Astound Broadband Powered by Wave

I am a new subscriber to Astound Broadband, my services being installed June 24, 2024 just a few days ago. Ever since that day, my internet keeps dropping every couple of hours. As of now, my service is down and not working. I wish I did not change from comcast. I work at home and my internet access is vital to my job. I am now thinking of switching to another ISP after just 3 days with Astound. Their service is terrible!!!

I actually had a pleasant experience with Astound. Internet was fast, didn't run into too many issues. I had previously tried xfinity and it didn't work due to a house issue. A technician came and said it wasn't very difficult. But I talked with someone from Astound and they spent the time setting it up together. One thing to watch out for is their deals can entice you into signing up at a cheap rate, but becomes expensive after a certain time. Customer service was nice and I had a good experience.

They had a promo where you get a free streaming stick. I lost the streaming stick. When I ended my service, they charged me $80 for the "free" streaming stick. Wave/astound is a scam that price gouges its customers. They said to private message them so they could help me but there is no place to private message them anywhere. I called them and the representative was not helpful at all.

For 360 days year around, this Wave internet at least has 200 days dropping issues. At past, my tolerance was ok because we went to work most of time. But now, working at home, its quality become a big issue, very annoying, it caused my work productivity very low. I called them so many times since last year, the quality improved only last for 1-2 days. Sometimes they said they would send someone to check, but it ended up charging me $65 and still could not able to resolve the problem. After I posted my review on this site, the Wave contacted me, and repeated the same excuse as the past: it was my room's problem. So, I moved my equipment to another room as they suggested, but the problem still stay the same! I said to them that many customers had the similar issues, then if their house constructions all had the same problems? What I feel is: they have poor technical quality! I removed my review recently because I still wanted to give them a chance due to I have been in their service for many years. But today I found the internet even went much worse, the whole day completely lost signal, so that I could not able to finish a rush job! Obviously They have no way to resolve the problem, but end up getting even worse.

My experience was nothing short of excellent, from first call to installation. Jamal was very responsive and called within 4 hours of my first reach out. Michael was quick and efficient with the installation of Gigabyte. Definitely recommend over Comcast and AT&T!

Service was fine when it was called Wave, but went absolutely downhill with the Astound rebrand. Nothing but service outages or random slowdowns (3 major ones that impacted my ability to connect within 5 months). The most recent one was the most egregious as it happened AFTER an Astound technician came by to do some maintenance in my building. Internet speeds were affected so much that every other webpage failed to load. Multiple calls over the next 2 days resulted in a scheduled service call 4 days later (earliest they were able to accommodate). Absolutely ridiculous given I couldn't even browse Amazon to make a purchase (let alone work since I WFH). Dumped Astound the same day and switched providers. Summary: you get what you pay for as the service is cheap, but not reliable in the slightest. I'd stay far away unless you don't really care about being able to consistently connect to the internet.

I no longer love wave. Prices doubled for my plan which was no longer offered. A better plan cost 80 percent of what I was paying even after the trial period was up. You have to monitor your plan or you will be locked into skyrocketing prices which are not even competitive with their offerings. Switched to Comcast that has a low rate after the introductory rate. When I requested a fixed low rate for service I was told that they only offer special introductory rates and a fixed rate was not possible. I would rather a provider than will give me a fixed rate from the start rather than one that jumps after an introductory period.

The installation and setup was amazing. The mesh wifi is performing well. There are known connectivity issues with the Eero modem and the Apple iPhone IOS-- I resolved this on my own, but received no help from your support team or response on this issue.
