Domaine de la Cote

I do not want to post a review about the wine since the taste varies from person to person, but the customer service is absolutely non-existent. The private tour with 5 wine tastings was $75 per person which is fine, but somehow somebody decided to charge a tax on this amount without letting us know about it upfront (the original email confirming the appointment and the prices didn't indicate the tax will be charged). We sent several emails and I left several messages, but my calls where never answered and nobody called back. It may be a harvest season, but it is still not an excuse not to respond in any way. I also want to point out how the payment was processed. The guy took my husband's credit card information and said it will be processed next day. Since we didn't see the amount to be charged at that time, we could not dispute it right away.

The wines from Domaine de la Cote are quite remarkable. There's no question. The tasting experience was a disaster. Just getting an appointment was arduous - calling and emailing and badgering for any kind of answer. The actual tasting was great, and our host was very well informed not just about Domaine de la Cote, but about the wine industry broadly. We bought a number of bottles, include a few to be shipped later, and that was completely botched. They lost our order, didn't believe we had paid when I called. Finally they found the order and after saying it was shipped two times previously (and it wasn't), it finally arrived. Be careful, but enjoy the wines there or take them with you. They are a logistics nightmare.

For a wine as expensive as it is I expected a LOT more. Very little body or flavor. Disappointing.
