CRUSH Vineyard

A must-visit in Paso Robles! You'd be hard-pressed to find another winery where you have direct access to both founders like you do at CRUSH. They're open books, always happy to share their journey into winemaking with anyone interested. Their passion and curiosity make every visit feel personal and special, and the hospitality is truly top-notch. The tasting room is modern yet inviting--a fun and memorable stop in the Tin City Annex! The wines are exceptional, and the prices are fantastic for the quality. Though they're newer to the scene, they've already become a pillar of the Paso Robles wine community--and it's easy to see why!

I wish you could give half stars. The review is for the wine and the interaction - I haven't been to the winery. They were at the OC Restaurant Week Launch Party and giving out tastings. It was, as stated, a party, so the venue had a DJ playing awesome jams, with unlimited wine and food tastings. We were having a great time, so my friend and I were dance-walking through the place and as I walked up and requested the 'Sassy' to go with my good mood, the male owner? there with, I'm assuming his wife, made some comment along the lines of 'why does that not surprise me?' Not a fun 'yes you are!' type way. A very 'yes, I am as conservative and judgey as I look' type way that his wife, largely ignored as she poured me the taste. The Sassy was nothing special and tasted similar to a watered down juice. From the interaction to the quality, I'll avoid this winery the next time we're in Paso.

The tiny production Tin City winery Crush was recommended to us by both the folks at Brecon and the team at Emercy. This two-person husband-and-wife show crushes it with their T and T offerings of Tennat (which only grows well in three places on this planet, one of which is Paso) and Tempranillo (we love Spanish wines). They do a 100% estate grown version of each (Tantalize for Tennat and Temptation for Tempranillo), and even a partnership of the two grapes called. . . Wait for it . . . T-N-T, which is dynamite in a bottle (sorry, I couldn't resist). The casually elegant tasting room is a great place to relax and taste unusual (for Paso) and delicious wines you won't see elsewhere. If you're lucky, Scott (owner, winemaker, etc., etc., etc. in the two-person show) may play a vinyl (yes, vinyl) record (yes, record) on his direct-drive turntable (I know, many of you are Googling these words but I'm glad to see the Renaissance of this tech and wish I'd kept mine), for some warm musical accompaniment to his perfect wines. We look forward to receiving their club shipments a couple times each year and will visit again the next time we are in Paso, to enjoy whatever their vines have to offer.

Stopped in here on our last trip to Paso Robles and I am so glad we did. The wines were very tasty and the owners sat with us and told us all about their wine-making journey. It was such a great experience! If you're looking for yummy wine in a fun, low-key spot then this place is for you.

Crush is great! Beautiful tasting room, great wines, and fantastic owners. We joined the club when we stopped in and look forward to wine fest!

My wife and I visited Crush this past weekend and had a wonderful time tasting their wines and chatting with the owners. We look forward to returning!
