I started having a problem uploading my photos to my site that's hosted by Zenfolio. The error indicated a disconnection from the server. I downloaded and installed the Zenfolio upload app and tried uploading that way to no avail. I contacted Tech support who kept insisting the error occurred on my side. I tried uploading using 2 different computers and a Tablet, using various Internet providers, but the problem still persisted. I asked a friend of mine to try it on his computer. He encountered the same problem. The tech support kept insisting the problem was on my end. I tried uploading via the browser while having the inspector running, which indicated a server 500 error, yet the tech support kept insisting the problem was on my end. I complained on Facebook about the service I was getting, where it seemed that no one was actually interested in solving the problem. It was after my FB complaint that I got a message from Stephanie. That's when things started rolling. Stephanie was able to get the ball rolling and forwarded the problems to the development team, which then forwarded it to the server team. Stephanie was great! She was on top of things and when she hit a road block where she wasn't able to get status updates, she got Jon S involved in the process. That's when things shifted into overdrive. Jon S ran with it like a freight train, breaking through whatever obstacles he encountered, he managed to get the status updates and he kept me in the loop, sending an e-mail every 24 hours until the problem got resolved. This is the type of professionalism, attention to customer service and communication that I expect and admire. He didn't try to placate me with corporate double speak or simply state "we're working on it". Rather, he provided updates that gave me an idea where things stood. I realize that people can be unreasonable in their expectations. I try not to be. I understand that problem resolution takes time, finding a problem takes time. A status update can be as simple as: "We haven't been able to find the cause of the problem yet" or "We have found the cause and we're working on a solution or a workaround". These are legitimate updates and I can accept them. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with Stephanie and Jon S. They are true professionals with a real understanding of what customer service means. Jon's title is "Customer Experience Expert". I can't think of a better fitting one.

In photos and the field of photography, the sales side of things does not always go as smoothly as one would like. As soon as I joined Zenfolio, my business flourished due to the expert website design. Whether you are just beginning or have been doing it for a while, the support team is available to assist you.
After 12 years with Zenfolio, I discovered today a great many photos are missing from my account. Can't begin to express how disheartening it is to find bits and pieces of work covering over a decade disappearing from this service. No calls or emails mentioning zenfolio was having data center issues or is working to restore accounts. Adobe Lightroom plugin shows me what should be there in the galleries, yet there is nothing. I can no longer recommend this service for professional photography.
It used to be a great service, you got a great looking website, complete with e-commerce and unlimited storage space, at a reasonable price. But ever since they implemented the archiving policy, it has ruined the whole experience for me. My website no longer looks nice, as it is now littered with white thumbnails that say "Archived Gallery", and clients with photos in those archived galleries now have to restore the galleries, which can take days. It's terrible now if you have a lot of galleries that you would like to keep active. There's no way to opt out of the archiving, you can only set 20 galleries to stay unarchived, and you have to restore galleries one at a time. Again, which can take days to restore. Of course prices have also gone up over the last couple of years, so now you're paying more money for a worse service. I will seriously be considering switching services when my current subscription runs out. These issues may not matter to you if you only keep 20 or fewer galleries active at any one time, but for me this could be the dealbreaker.
Really impressed by the selection of templates available and simplicity of using their versatile facilities to set up a solid website in exactly the style I wanted. They've also done all the 'under the bonnet' stuff that I would have been looking to do myself, if say I'd chosen to use WordPress or the like, and just as likely would still be working on that some six months later, instead of focusing on more important and productive things. Finally, I'm super impressed by the technical support. One-on-one video calls with follow up emails, who else does that? These not only helped resolve a few things I hadn't set up correctly myself, but also helped me understand the principles, which is key to real understanding. Yeah, I'm a fan. STUDIO TONY BLACKWELL
I can't really say a single bad thing about this company. Their prices are straight forward, and what you get is pretty clean actually. If all you want is a nice clean website, online portfolio and the option to send your clients the complete product, this is it. I took my time finding an all-in-one solution and they have it. If you want to sell directly you can basically have your photos drop shipped with whatever frames the client chooses. I could go on, but I'f you're not a client, become one. New clients get 50% off at the time of my review. ( sounds like in work for them)
