Insperity is a terrible company with unethical and unscrupulous business practices. My husband, and I have both had two major experiences with serious consequences, as a result of Insperity's incompetence and unscrupulous business practices. Today, I just discovered that my COBRA health coverage through Insperity was unexpectedly terminated. Insperity stated that I had not paid the full premium amount due for the past three months. They stated they sent me a coupon booklet last December with the new amount I would have to pay starting in January. I never received this coupon booklet in the mail. I honestly didn't know my premium had been increased. Furthermore, I never received any kind of notification from Insperity informing me that I was not paying the full premium amount, or warning me that my coverage would be terminated, if I didn't make the full payment owed by a certain date. I only received email confirmation that they processed/posted my payments. Nowhere on those email invoices did it show the current premium amount due, or that I had an outstanding balance. Their website portal for payment also lacks those important payment and account details. I have never received invoices or payment coupons from any business or creditor lacking those additional details. I contacted Insperity, and explained what had occurred. I also pointed out the lack of communication from them, and the absence of details on their invoices. They refused to reinstate my COBRA coverage. I highly suspect these practices by Insperity are deliberate, and intended to increase the likelihood of the COBRA recipient making a payment error that will create the opportunity for Insperity to discontinue the COBRA health coverage they are legally required to provide. Insperity, terminating my COBRA health insurance under these circumstances is very wrong and unethical. Shame on you! April 12, 2024 Response to Insperity Owner: The situation has not been positively resolved! I sent a stern email to the absurd email response I received from Insperity Administration notifying me why they would not reinstate my COBRA health insurance. I then received a second email response from Insperity. The curt email response acknowledged that Insperity "did not generate and mail the deficient payment letters." They offered to reinstate the insurance, but I had to mail a check. The letter stated it would take 5-7 business days after processing my check for my health insurance to be reactivated. So, this means my insurance would not be reinstated until around April 25th, provided the whole process went smoothly. Given Insperity's track record, I can't take it for granted that it would. In the interim I have prescription medications, including a very expensive one, I need to refill in the next few days, that I have to pay for out of pocket. Even if my insurance coverage is retroactive to the first of the month, I don't have confidence that Insperity would reimburse me for those out of pocket prescription expenses. After my experience with Insperity unjustifiably, and literally without any warning, terminating my COBRA health insurance, and the grievous error Insperity made with my husband's 401K contribution that resulted in us owing substantial taxes, I have no trust in Insperity.
