Budget Host-Royal Gorge Inn

We got here and the guy up front was super nice! He told us about a dog park in the area and we're so thankful, it was one of the best dog parks we've been too! We did have a small problem with our first room, it smelt like animal pee. The guy up front accommodated us by giving us a new room immediately and it was much better! The pool unfortunately wasn't in order during our stay, but it looked like they were refilling it and getting it ready for the season! Honestly the hotel rooms aren't that bad for $50 a night and pet friendly!

David is an amazing host. This place is well ran and you feel valued as a guest. He goes above and beyond to call and update you regarding any issues with the hotel. This hotel is clean and organized. I especially loved the live plants everywhere. Will stay here again!

David and his mother are excellent hosts. They were attentive to all needs, in fact they work 15 hour days. I have witnessed it for my extended stay. Wonderful people here, comfy, and well managed. I will never forget this place. I highly recommend.

I booked this hotel strictly because it was the least expensive hotel in Canon City and was nervous. I shouldn't have been! I sincerely would stay here again if I have reason to visit the area again. The desk clerk was friendly and warm, recommending places to eat and things to see. He checked to see if we were comfortable. There is coffee in the morning, in the lobby.

Great staff..courteous and professional. Hotel is a work in progress. These guys have tried hard to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable place to stay away from home. David is amazing! Thanks for 2 good nights.

Best value in town, Davis at check in was great! Gave us a fantastic suggestion for dinner. nice pool. Clean room, comfortable bed, nice hot shower. Very personable staff, you can tell they care about the hotel. A little outdated but very well maintained. Plus Flowers everywhere!!! Loved our stay. Would stay here again!

This was not my worst experience with a hotel but it was close. I wish I had taken some pictures and I regret not doing so now. The pictures shown online are dated and not accurate of the mustard orange color someone decided to paint the entire building. David, who was working the front desk, was likely the best part of our short experience. We spent 30 minutes in the room and then my son and I agreed we did not feel comfortable and packed up and left. The room appeared to need a good deep cleaning. The air conditioner was unbearably loud and functioned poorly. That volume for the TV did not work so we had no sound. The toilet seem to be loose. The windows were dirty. Our initial impression of the beds was that they were very firm which some people may like. They did not have fitted sheets but rather regular sheets that were partly tucked under the mattress but became untucked very easily. The towels did not smell clean. This was all we experienced in our short stay in this room, but it was enough to motivate us to find another place.

Really nice hotel, the owner Dave is great! Hotel room is large, 2 double beds. Tv, fridge and microwave. Clean and comfortable. Love canon city, Dave is really knowledgeable about the area and recommended we drive the skyline drive which was awesome alongside the local prison museum which In my opinion was better than eastern state penitentiary (on a smaller scale). We will definitely stay in this hotel again if we pass through canon city on our travels. Lots of take out and restaurants nearby. Would recommend this hotel 100%
