Filet Mignon was prepared to perfection!! The beef is bought local. Absolutely best steak we have had!! The loaded baked potato was divine!! The bacon ...yum!!!!! Homemade rolls very good!! Manager surprised us with cheesecake on the house for our Anniversary. What a sweet spot in Lamar, CO!! (Should have taken my photos before we cut into steaks but forgot!)

This is my favorite place to eat at in Lamar Colorado...especially the filet...Best steaks in Southeast Colorado. The drinks are so amazing especially the margaritas!

Maria is by far the best bartender and waitress! Such a beauty and always has the best customer service. The steak is always made to perfection, and I melt in the mashed potatoes every time I eat them. LOVE, love, love The Max Chophouse. 10/10 recommend every time I've traveled to Lamar.

What a wonderful dinning experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and I actually cut mine with a butter knife. Extremely tender juice and delicious. Fresh baked potatoe with the "works" served on the side. We ordered the "wedge" salad and it was so fresh cold and delicious. Their foods are displayed beautifully! This is an extremely clean and an excellent atmosphere to relax and dine in. Excellent food service and drink. It doesn't get any better!

This place has great choice of dinner options...lots of great steaks and appetizers. My favorite drink is the blueberry margaritas. Nobody in town makes them like the Max...one of a kind!

Have eaten here in the past and wasn't overly impressed. Ordered DoorDash tonight and it was amazing. My ribeye was cooked perfectly the potatoes were delicious and the wedge salad I got was very fresh. The fresh blue cheese that came with the wedge salad was a nice touch. Very impressed this evening, thanks for a delicious meal after a long day.

Please do not wear a sweatshirt to serve food in a nice restaurant. It is sloppy and not professional. Steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. It was a Monday and they were out of filets, but the ribeyes were terrific. Malbec Wine was very nicely paired with beef. Lose the baseball hats. This is supposed to be fine dining. Hats should be removed for the dining room including the wait staff. Service was barely marginal. I had to ask to have our dirty plates removed and check was dropped before we were asked if we would like dessert. We waited for at least 10-15 minutes to have our check paid. Great food but do not expect the service for the prices.
