Jaycee Park

I'm differently abled, not in wheel chair but use cane and ankle bracing. Easy to find, covered cement picnic tables and sitting area shaded up hill. Has handicap parking, but hills are steep and off-setting angled. It was quite hard to go down hill and even with wheel chair it would be difficult to navigate. Parking aside, this is really a place for people or can't physically get around easily. Quite dangerous, but nice for people who aren't at a physical disadvantage.

This beach was super easy to get to and not crowded at all. Parking was close to the beach and super convenient. Decent bathrooms for a beach, well maintained. The restaurant there was yummy, staff very friendly. Tuesdays was 3 for $12 tacos

Such an amazing place to visit at sunset and watch the sun going down. Love it.

Took my father, who has limited mobility, to this beach and we really enjoyed it. Even though the south end of the boardwalk was being repaired, we were able to travel a distance on his scooter. We packed a lunch (highly recommended) and ate it under one of the many small pavilions at the park. Multiple parking spaces are available and even a lot across the street if it gets busy.

Last Saturday I caught the number 1 bus to Jaycee Park and Beach. Superb sandy beach, life guards, toilets, showers, benches and tables in BBQ area. Only an hour there because I wanted catch the last bus back to the Main transit hub then on the 4 to get home.

Always one of my favorite beaches! The daytime view of the water isn't generally super crowded despite the boardwalk being a great place to walk as it's a 1/4 mile (& marked). They have done a great job of repairing the beaches & boardwalk since Ian & Nicole caused some damage. I love going at night and sitting on the cut offs of the boardwalk. I do wish they had more as they tend to fill up quickly on nights like the full moon or a space launch but I understand why it doesn't. We meet a lot of fun and interesting people on our visits, have had several conversations about dogs, space launches, photography, stars, and more with our fellow beach goers. I generally see a more adult crowd, rarely younger kids (babies-toddlers) with the exception of school aged kids coming out with parents. I think this is mostly due to the amount of stairs on the majority of the boardwalk. The north (far left) side of the boardwalk is a ramp but (to my knowledge) that's the only ramp access to the beach, the rest are several stairs high, which may not be fun for families of young kids who generally need more help carrying things than school aged kids. Regardless, this is a wonderful beach with amazing views, is well kept, attracts a relatively friendly crowd, is rarely crowded (unless you're walking in the mornings, then it can be very crowded, or going during busy nights).
