Hargray Communications

I'm typically a very positive person and this is the first negative review I've written. But if my review saves someone, anyone, the frustration of having this internet service, I feel I've done my job. This is by far the worst internet provider I've experienced in my time. The internet is very unstable and seems to go out every night and is out in the morning when getting ready for work. I'm an avid gamer and my records are trashed because the service is so unstable. It's very frustrating and I wouldn't recommend the service even if it were the last resort. I'd say, save your money, and wait on a better company. I have already purchased Cox Fiber and can't wait. Next week can't get here fast enough.

Customer support is usually pretty good! Internet is great and fast when it's actually working! Random outages caused by whatever (they can never tell you) are this companies worst nightmare... As well as mine... The fact that one day it works well and the next I'm jumping from connected to not is the most annoying thing ever.. it's 2025 and we can't find out how to have solid uninterrupted internet in a first world country that charges insane rates for the services?! Like come on man

Been using hargray for the better part of 3 years. The entire time I've had hargray I have paid for 1 Gb/s internet speeds. I'm lucky if I see a tenth of that and that's when it's functional. Which is only about half the time. It's virtually impossible to enjoy an evening when my internet just randomly shuts off for 30 minutes at a time for absolutely no reason. My neighbors also have hargray but are not experiencing any of the same problems I have been and I've called and had several different technicians come out and try and figure out the problem and it will be fixed for all of two weeks and then go right back to the same terrible service as before. Be wary if hargray starts trying to expand and take over as the ISP in your area because you are likely to receive some of the worst possible connections that I have ever seen.

We recently had an issue with our cable service. Mathew Hortman responded. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. He was able to get the issue fixed and also helped with an internet problem. Very satisfied with the results.

I dont even have service yet and if I could give this company zero stars I would. They told me someone would come out to set up my internet between 8-10am. I waited in my living room (that is right next to the front door) the entire day. And No One came. I called customer service 4 times in one day to keep checking if they were coming. Each time I was told they are just running late. Then all of a sudden when i call at the end of the day again there is note saying "No one was home". Which is absolutely a lie because I took an entire day of leave to be here to have my internet connected. And instead of saying "We'll send someone back out right away" they reschedule me for a week out from now when i have no more PTO left. Absolutely unprofessional and no accountability. Based on these other reviews it is clear this company is absolutely horrible. If another company was able to service this area, I would.

I would give 0 stars if I could. When we first got service back in July of 2020 It took over a month of calling every other day for someone to come run wires (after the appointment day came and no one showed up), and then another 1-2 months for someone to bury the wires, but the people who came out were very nice and apologized for it taking so long. When we moved, in October 2024, we decided to keep hargray since it was in our area. Well they had to run new wires. We moved October 14th, called on the 15th, got an appointment for the 24nd. No one showed up. Called hargray, they said they couldn't get someone out until the 31st. Says something about the business when this happens TWICE to the same customer. We ended up canceling out service the day we were suppose to be getting the wires ran, because once again, if this happened to us twice, we knew the same problems we had before would keep happening. We also never got the speed of what we paid for. On October 25th, I went and returned our equipment and made sure the account was canceled and we wouldn't get a bill since we havent had service. I was told the account was balanced out, and no bill would be shown. Guess what, we got a bill due in December...even though the account had been closed in October. I called, and they looked on the account, and said it was an equipment charge. The guy saw that it had said our equipment had been returned, so he zero the account. We shouldn't have gotten charged in the first place though.

I called to have my service restored. I informed the representative I still had my equipment. She stated I needed new equipment and she could not restore my service from the home office. She told me they were booked out until January, but she would call me back once she spoke with a technician about squeezing me in. I did not get the call back. I had to call to see if they were able to schedule me sometime soon. I was told the representative would call me back within the hour. She did... to tell me it would be six days before I can get service. Fast forward to my schedule service date. The technician informed us the equipment was fine he didn't change it out and they could've restored my service over the phone. Needless to say this will be my only month with Hargray. Service was bad under Hargray, now that they've switched to "Sparklight" it's unbearable. We've had major outages twice in one week with no explanation or credit. I'll be moving our services to another company immediately.
