The trails are nice. I like that there are a couple of water crossings. It looks like work is being done on the trails .

Is a 0.70 miles trail to get to the highest point, make sure to get the poop bags at the beginning of the trail because that is the only spot they have dog poop bags. Is a really nice and beautiful seeing but unfortunately my dogs ended up with a lot of ticks, you can see it just jumping to get on my dogos, so make sure to use the anti fleas and ticks before you go other than that bring a lot of water and enjoy the walk and the view.

This was our first time to visit this place. If you have horses you can park and ride the designated trails. We hiked the 2 mile loop trail. It was part shade from the wooded areas and full sun in the grassy part. There were hills and the trail was mostly grassy. Beautiful area and quiet. We had a picnic lunch at the shelter. We didn't see a park there. No grills for cooking. There was a pit toilet near the shelter and we didn't see any water pumps. You can walk dogs there.

My experience was just okay. I wasn't able to hike to the water or do the 2 mile loop. Trucks have been down the trail recently and the ruts filled up with water blocking a section on the West side of Bird Loop trail so I returned to the parking lot. If you're bringing kids or the elderly, Bird Loop is 2+ miles and there weren't any areas to rest, no benches and the ground was soaked. Most trails I've been to in other parks and preserves are maintained better than this one and offer better navigation in the park. I turned down roads at a whim because their destinations weren't posted and there wasn't a main park map to get more information. The pavilion area had a really nice fireplace and offered great shade.

Well maintained trails and fun water crossings. The water crossing are great practice for horses that don't like them. They aren't deep and are wide enough your horse will have to walk through them. Watch out for crawfish in the water crossings though.

A beautiful horse trail through woods and prairies. Beautiful flowers, birds, deer and large trees. Two nice water crossings.

This is a park that turns out to be quite extensive in trails. There are horse and hiking trails. There is various landscapes, including bluffs along the creek. The only thing that could be better is if some of the trails were better kept up. There is one that runs along the creek that is hard to follow and it sometimes disappears altogether. Also, I have often gotten ticks walking through this preserve, especially when the trail disappears and I have to walk through the brush.

Amanda Morgan

Nice trails, dogs on leash, some horse trails too. I think they close in the winter but well maintained
