Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Host is incredibly rude and insulted me for inquiring about damage in the bedroom ceiling. Made a vague threat about "their nephew a couple houses down" confronting me and began asking me for personal information I didn't already divulge to stay there. Felt uncomfortable and left earlier than I intended. Extremely unprofessional and the host is a shining example of the "Karen" stereotype.
First time we stayed at a B&B in the US and what a great experience! Audrey's B&B showed up on our GPS so we decided to give it a try. What a happy choice! Audrey gave us information over the phone on a wonderful place to experience live Cajun music - the Jolly Inn. After dinner, dancing and enjoying the music and crowd, we proceeded to Audrey's. The B&B is a typical large ranch-style house. Audrey met us a the door, gave us a warm welcome and a brief tour. Our room was a typical bedroom with a king-size bed, all of the necessities as well as some niceties like bathrobes, closet space & bottled water. We used a bathroom next door. All of the facilities were spotless.|| The treat really started the next morning when we learned of our hostess's prowess in the kitchen! One of the babies in a family of 17 children, Audrey is an experienced and gifted cook! Breakfast included coffee, eggs benedict (on a slightly sweet, delicious home-made sour dough bread) , freshly made toast with home-made pear preserves, and a lesson on making exquisite beignets! (Audrey admitted to staying up to make a fresh bowl of dough since her supply was low and I had asked about 'beignets' the night before.) During our breakfast time, we saw a Food Network Show on Cajun Cooking which showed this 100% Cajun wonder welcoming a busload of French guests to her B&B network. I'm sure she's a delightful tour hostesses!|| We went away with recipes, sour dough starter, ice, local tour information and the greatest admiration for Audrey's establishment!
My husband, 2 grown daughters and I stayed at Audrey's Bed & Breakfast . We were on vacation in New Orleans and we thought it would be fun/interesting to stay at a bed and breakfast and explore Cajun culture for a day. Well we enjoyed being at Audrey's so much that we stayed for 3 nights. Anyone who wants to experience Cajun culture should consider staying here. Being Cajun herself, she is fluent in French and can answer any question about there history or culture. She knows everyone in the community. We told her that we were interested in Cajun music, dancing and folkart and she recommended some dancehall/restaurants. We had a ball and the people were really friendly. She also introduced us to some wonderful Cajun people who invited us to a crawfish boil. She makes a different homemade breakfast every morning. My daughters were up earlier than me and she taught them how to make French beignets from scratch. They were better than what we had at any fancy restaurant in New Orleans. Her B&B is only an hour from New Orleans so we decided to "commute" because her place was so nice to "come home to". You really get a lot of bang for your buck at Audrey's because she such a great resource.
I live in Florida at this time, and when I||needed to go to Houma Louisiana to apply for a job, go through interviews, tests and wait for results, I needed to find inexpensive lodging. I called Houma's famous Bed and Breakfast Twins: Audrey George and Maudrey Bergeron. These two ladies, welcomed me into their homes like I was their grandson. I stayed at Chez Maudrey's Cajun Bed and Breakfast for 5 nights. They often gave me pot luck, and were so kind and gracious, great Christian ladies. While there, I met many other people with different backgrounds, and Ms. Maudrey treated everyone as well as she treated me. She has||two facilities and has a total of 5 rooms for her guests. Her twin sister, Ms. Audrey George, is an agent for 30 other bed and breakfasts around Louisiana. She says that she is Louisiana's best-kept secret. Now, that I have to come to Houma for work, I will never stay any where else. Couldn't have felt more welcomed. The rates and hospitality are the greatest!
My husband and I stayed at Audery's home one night. We made arrangements through another B&B in a different town so we really didn't know what to expect. The Cajun Mansion is a ranch style home where Audery and Bob live. We had never stayed in a B&B that is still a residence before but we enjoyed the visit. Audery is a wonder. She was fun to talk with. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the beignets! Fresh from the skillet and dusted with powdered sugar. Wonderful! We were her only guests so we received excellent service, but I think that is the only type of service Audery knows how to give.
This house was not safe enough to rent to guests, especially those with children. You did not mention the condition of the house while we were messaging. You just said the 2 bedroom addition was damaged. My family left early because of the conditions of your house! I could have rented RVs for them to stay in if you had been truthful! Yes you refunded $600 of the $1900 bill because we had fewer guests but I requested a refund because of the unsafe conditions. You declined.I also want you to suspend your listing until you get the roof fixed and electrical covered.
We stayed for 3 days at Audreys . We could not have been more welcome or treated any better . it is an outstanding place. if we were going back I would not hesitate to stay again we also met her husband bob& her son bobby also great& friendly people loved every minute of it thanks for everything RONNIE WADE OF VIRGINIA
Ms. Audrey is very friendly. But that's the best of this place.||We were a traveling family in the area with friends. At the last minute, she moved us to another property (an overflow) which was dirty...dirty floors, countertops, dead mosquitos all over the kitchen counter and in the sink, dirty toilet. Light fixtures without bulbs, dresser drawer handles that fell off when you tried to open dresser, smelled horrible of cigarette smoke...which she knew days in advance and could of warned us of all this...but chose not to advise us. Left over bar of soap from another guest...we had to go to store to buy fresh soap. Undesirable neighborhood with a deadbolt on door that did not work. We were told we would have this property all to ourselves...which was not the case. There was a young adult male living in the garage and who able to just walk into the home to share the kitchen and home...which he did! I could go on, and on about this place with so many things. This place was a dump. In 20 years of being a fan of B&B's NEVER did we encounter an unfortunate situation like this. AVOID THIS PLACE. ||What you see is not what you get nor pay for. This place shouldn't even be on a site for B&B's.
