Hunt's Photo and Video

the hunt's website is a fantastic starting point for any and all photo/video shopping. every item listed online comes with a thorough description (which is super helpful for beginners like me). it's also really easy to see which stores have certain products in stock, and you can sign up to get notified when a product is restocked. overall, the website is easy-to-use and informative-- i'd highly recommend checking it out before visiting the store in-person! but even if you forego the website and walk into hunt's as a complete beginner, i've found that the staff are more than willing to help out! in my case, i'm completely new to analogue photography. so i was a bit nervous going into such a big photo/video store. yet my worries were assuaged as soon as i spoke to the employees! the two people i interacted with were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and willing to help me find the right film camera. i told them what i was looking for and they gave me a couple different suggestions. once i settled on a camera, they explained what kind of film i should use and recommended several different brands. it was a wonderful experience! thank you, hunt's employees! there are a ton of different kinds of batteries that are sold near the checkout area, so you don't have to worry about making another trip just to get your camera to work. and if you're a student, great news! hunt's offers student discounts. :) overall, i had a fantastic experience shopping at hunt's. thank you to the amazing employees who helped me out-- i'll be coming back! :D

First and foremost, yeah they probably have EXACTLY what you are looking for at Hunts in Melrose. They have it all, and they probably even rent it. If you live in MA, and you order camera gear from Amazon instead of going to Hunts, you're a fool. Where do I even begin to explain how great this store is? If you are even casually into photography, or video, this place is heaven on earth. I think it's the nature of stores that are dedicated to the arts, which is certainly what Hunts is. From the people working at the registers in front, to the sales people, to the rental staff, it's just great mojo all around, and I have not had anything other than exceptional service from Hunts. I am truly grateful that we have such a great photography retailer in MA. A tip of the hat to all who work there!

Super friendly staff. The main floor is pretty big for their stock, which means the aisles have room to move around. It doesn't feel cramped. There's a bigger selection of tripods than I thought possible.

Today I had an excellent experience working with Steve, Chris and a product rep. I had a problem with a tripod I had bought. I had hoped to get a repair or replacement parts. But Instead, it was determined that there was a product defect and I received a brand new replacement under the warranty. Big thanks go out to these gentleman and Hunt's. I do my best to buy my camera gear locally and this is one reason: great customer service!

My favorite camera store of all time and I've been shopping here for years for all my camera/video needs. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 product selection, 10/10 prices on the products. Gregg in particular was amazing when I stopped by to purchase some items today. I couldn't recommend this place more for camera/video enthusiasts, definitely stop by if you're in the area!!

I had a pleasant exchange through email with one of the associates from the Melrose location. A special shoutout to Julia Thorn for going the extra mile for providing me with my clerical request. Thankful for the two people (Brad and Melody) that were super helpful during my decision on which camera was going to fit my every need. Needless to say I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

We needed to order photos in a short amount of time. The staff at Hunts were so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their input helped us make good decisions about what kind of prints to order for a time sensitive project / tribute to a family member. Benny in particular helped me several times over the course of the day over the phone. Excellent customer care. Excellent quality of printing/photos.
