Nora Brown Design

Nora Brown designed my first website over 12 years ago. She took a lot of time making it mine--customizing it to my style and voice. When it debuted, visitors remarked about its look and ease of use. I received numerous compliments about the site. Moreover, Nora took the time to send me videos and step by step instructions about how to manage changes and updates. In 2018, with the rise of more user friendly website platforms and a desire to update my pages, I asked Nora to help me. Nora redesigned my site for Squarespace, managing to keep the same font and color palette. The site is perfect, better than I could have imagined--and the transition, thanks to Nora, was seamless. I am forever in awe of Nora's talent, her eye for design, her careful study of her clients, her modesty, and her accessibility.

Nora Brown designed my website lowrypei.com; it's an online library of my writing, as well as sound and video art, so it's very meaningful to me. The creative efforts of most of my adult life are put on this site for the world to see. Nora worked with me to arrive at a look and a functionality that I feel good about in multiple ways. It's inviting, it's easy to use, I think it's elegant without being fussy, and the aesthetic of the site feels like it reflects my personality. Not only did Nora do the initial design work, always in consultation and collaboration with me, she has taught me how to add new work to the site and revise what needed revision from time to time. When the maintenance of the site has gotten above my pay grade, Nora has been there to fix glitches and smooth out the bumps that are inevitably going to come over time, as the internet keeps changing. I'm very glad to know that her expertise is there for me to call upon when I need to.

Nora did the original design of our journal's web site ten years ago.
