About two years ago we wanted to get away from printing 10 paper copies (40-100 pages) of the Kershaw County Council agenda pack every two weeks for the meetings. We looked at several options and decided to purchase tablets for the county council to use. We knew that technology could be challenging for some, so we had to think of an easy way to share the PDF file with each of the devices. We figured out a way to share the file using google drive but it was pretty clunky. There were specific steps involved in opening the PDF to be able to use the tabs that were in the PDF. Over time some used it and some did not. This was a good solution for about a year but we wanted to see if there was a way to make an app that would make it much easier. We contacted other county agencies that had an app created by netGALAXY Studios so we contacted them to discuss our needs. We had several phone discussions and they listened to our issue and said that they could create an app for us. The app was started in June 2019 and after a few months we had a prototype in hand to test. In late 2019 netGALAXY Studios went through some management changes which delayed the project for some time. Naturally there were some delays in getting our project completed. Alan Thompson took over the project and he kept us informed regarding the status of the project. During the testing phase the issues were acknowledged and they were corrected in a timely manner. Testing is such a huge part of the project that took some time but the results turned out well. We had our first council meeting this week and the council members were excited with the outcome. Thanks for a job well done and look forward to the app working well for a long time.
