Schmeeckle Reserve

Decided I needed a good drive listening to podcasts, and this was the perfect spot to drive to and explore before heading back home hours away. Truly peaceful. I recommend walking out without earbuds and truly just taking it all in.

If you're looking to get away without getting away for a few hours this is the place to go. It's generally quiet and very peaceful. There are a few different ways to go and plenty to look at. You can truly enjoy nature and I've often seen deer and other critters chilling about. As you make your way around the reserve it feels like walking into a new world every time you go to a different spot. Very beautiful and highly recommend visiting at least once even if it's for a short walk.

Beautiful place with tons of fresh air - there's mushrooms, spores, moss, and lots of ground leaves right now. We were trying to get to Green Circle Trailhead but Google navigated us to a private residence. This is the spot you want to travel to in order to get to that trail. Couple things to note before planning a trip: - no pets unless you walk along the street - no drones - this should go without saying, but no collecting

This place is great! Lots of wildlife (deer, squirrels, chipmunks, birds, bugs), lots of trees and plants, a couple water areas, wooden walkways, carvings, and very few mosquitoes (today, anyway). The visitor center was not open today, so we didn't get to see what was inside, but we will return again in the future. Very peaceful walk with enough to see to make us want to come back.

Not dog friendly. Drove from out of town to walk the trails only to find out we weren't allowed to bring our dogs. not sidewalks are available with pets there. We can walk dogs n our sidewalks at home, I didn't need to drive all the way here just to have to go home.

A wondrous retreat and educational area to visit. A great place for a nice nature walk, jog, bike, or kayak/canoe. Very well kept walking paths with plenty of things to see and learn about. Children should be closely monitored to insure they don't excessively disturb the area or its animals.

Beautiful & Educational Experience at Schmeeckle Nature Center We took a brief hike at Schmeeckle Nature Center and were blown away by the stunning scenery! The trails are peaceful and well-maintained, making it a perfect spot to enjoy nature. The Visitor Center was also a highlight--it's educational, engaging, and supports local businesses with the products they offer. Mesmerizing trails manicured beautifully. Doesn't matter the season, it's always gorgeous here. Great for running, biking, walking, people watching, or my favourite animal watching. Since it's a nature pressurve deer get within inches of you...so cool!
