Beautiful place for gatherings, and celebrations, especially in summer with some different kinds of activities like fishing, barbecuing, playing sports, walking, hiking and much more. You can enjoy this natural environment, and beauty by arranging a short trip here in Cameron Park , CA. It is really calming, and very relaxing quiet place to spend time with your loved ones, but keep in mind no pets allowed. The weather, the birds, the turtles everything is amazing, and adds to the atmosphere of the park which makes you feel fresh, and fantastic. Swans are one of the beauty of this place, and the beautiful love dance of the Swans couples make your day, so don't wait, and make it happen by visiting. It has a huge parking lot , and hundreds of parking spots including handicapped spots plus access, but it is not free you need to pay the parking lot fee which is increased from 1 bucks to almost 6 bucks , but to be honest its really worth it. But please clean after yourselves, and don't make this beautiful place to be dirty , and nasty already trash was everywhere, and you can see visitors don't clean after themselves which is gross. This is a home for those beautiful animals,so don't make their homes filthy because I'm sure you guys don't like your homes to be dirty by others, so please treat everyone the way you want to be treated. Please don't feed any breads to the birds because that can kill them. Please do your research before feeding the swans, geese or the ducks. There are public restrooms which were not cleaned at all , and no paper towel or soap for washing after using the restrooms. Hopefully the authorities will take appropriate precautions to prevent any further damage to the park, and take hygiene seriously, especially when it comes to restrooms or the dining area. Please keep this beautiful place clean , and throw all your trash in trash cans which can be found at any corner of the park. I had a beautiful experience at this beautiful place, and made too many memories, so hopefully you are one of those who like to make memories without harming the environment, and the animals. Visit the place , and enjoy. Good luck

Pamela

This is a beautiful place to take kids and see nature. They have a playground and tennis nets too. Despite what the website says, they are NOT dog friendly. We learned this the hard way when we took our dog after checking the website to make sure it was ok. There was a single sign in one area that said dogs are not allowed, but given the conflicting information on their website, we assumed that it was only for that specific area and went to a different area. A local Karen group approached us and informed us that the lake is not dog friendly, but because my dog was leashed and seemed well-behaved, they would give us a pass. Not two seconds later, we were approached by a different person who also told us we could not be there. We ended up leaving rather than being harassed every five min by people who are in no way in charge or affiliated with park services. I double-checked the site, and it still says that dogs are allowed, so I am unsure of which is the correct info and have left a message for parks and rec to update their website with accurate info so that other families don't run into this issue in the future. We are not from here and drove 45 min to go here. If we'd known the dog was going to be an issue, we would have made other arrangements for him.

It's a cool ass lake. There is an airplane neighborhood right behind it. That's also cool to drive through.... Like having a freeway length between your neighbors across the street lol. But the birds are always the best part of the lake. The swans came out, mating season is around the corner. Canadian Geese are always pleasant. The small ducks are smart as well. If you're lucky you'll see the turtles by the bridge.

Cons: you have to pay... randomly. And there are no discounts for residents of the area. If you're gonna have to pay, I expect something like a routine law enforcement check in. Never seen one here. Ever. That being said, people bring their bikes, dogs (both prohibted) and there are some suspect fisherman with multiple poles that likely do not have fishing licenses at all. Also, they started this disc golf trend that clogs up the parking lot. Pros: a nicely groomed 1.1 mile track around the lake. Tennis courts. Playground. Restrooms. They even opened the snack bar back up to cater to the disc golfers. All kinds of wildlife. It's nice but the rules are like: yeah we have rules, but nobody is gonna supervise you to follow them.

With plenty of space to enjoy an outing with a small or large group this is a nice place to sit an enjoy the view of the lake near the park. Events happen alot here an these pictures were taken on Halloween day. It was an event for parents bring their kiddos to enjoy from the bouncy house to taking a small pumpkin to decor at home. Food trucks were also there. Each table had sorted candy for the kiddos to enjoy an music to dance. All ages were there too. Parking at these events can get full so go early.Worth coming to events at this park.

Love this lake. Especially during the spring time because of all the nesting birds. You also get to see the bird families grow up. The lake is 1 mile. Perfect for families events. They have little grills and picnic tables. There is also a watering hole to swim in starting around memorial day. For the kiddos there is a playground. The park also has tennis courts. Have to pay for parking a car. Negatives: Lots of poop due to all the geese Have to pay to walk around the lake during late spring/summer

Beautiful park! Can swim, fish, area for kids to play, BBQ & paddle board. There's a path that goes around the whole lake. It's a mile. Beautiful & highly recommended. Cost $3 for residents, $5 for non residents.
