Customer Reviews & Testimonials
First time camping and spending the night on the beach close to the ocean hearing the "POWERFUL" waves crashing onto the shores as it comes and goes back into the ocean is an experience that you can relive over and over. The sunset amazing. Watching the surfers out in the ocean waiting for that perfect wave is an amazing sight to see. At night as you stargazing and reconnect yourself with Father God, the Creator, it is a way to cleanse your spirit and soul.
Beautiful and relaxing beach along the CA coast. We stayed in February so naturally it was chilly, however the trade off was no large crowds or lines. Plenty to do in the area and a nice mix of the beautiful views and large relaxing sandy beach.
My family's #1 beach choice. Rookie to novice surfers. Plenty of parking spaces based on time you arrive and easy payment methods.
We camped at Doheny Beach Campground. Very clean campground, bathrooms, and showers. What I love best is you are steps away from the water! I will definitely come back.
The cleanest and best beach. Especially for those who are handicapped or not able to walk great. The parking is close no 1 mile walk in the sand to water. It is a bit rocky so I would suggest water shoes. Plenty of restrooms, has showers, a few bonfire pits. The other beach goers are also so kind. Love that noone leaves trash behind.
As an Angeleno college student, it is a really, really underrated beach. Beautiful views a great view of the sunset the rocks and the California state route 1 behind the railway tracks. However, the access to the beach is not pedestrian-friendly: it took me about more than 10 minutes to find a way and walk from the area of the beach on the left side of the San Juan creek to get to see the place where the sunset is the best(which is right opposite of the Capistrano SurfSide Inn across the Pacific Coast Highway). I recommend going to this place with families and friends together, just prepare a flashlight in case if your group stays there late.
This beach is a fantastic spot where you can easily park right by the shore, making it convenient to enjoy the beautiful sunset. The view is stunning, and it's a peaceful place to relax and take in the natural beauty. Whether you're looking to unwind or simply appreciate the sunset, it's the perfect spot for a serene experience.
Nice and clean but not the best beach for young kids due to stones. It's perfectly fine if u just want to sit and enjoy the ocean. Pros: Beautiful, clean, less crowd than other beaches. Cons: Lots of small stones so if kids fall down from the waves, they will scrap their skin. Better to wear water shoes or Crocs. Other beaches like Laguna or Huntington are better for children because they are 100% sands. Fishy smell - I don't know where the smell comes from but there's strong odor of rotting fish everywhere.
