Social Impact created and helped me manage my campaign website, integrated my Facebook page with the website and coordinated my online public outreach. I am very pleased with the services provided and the quality of the artwork they produced for me. On November 16, 2018 the voters within the North Collier Fire District (NCFD) returned me to office with 65% of the total vote compared to my opponents 35%. I was surprised by these results since I was aggresivly opposed by the 230 members of the NCFD fire fighters union who actively campaigned for my opponent. The union raised campaign funds statewide. Union members stood out side the polling sites all day, every day. They put up over 100 signs supporting my opponent. Yet I garnered 65% (33,000 votes) of the votes cast. I began, immediately, to try and understand what caused me to be overwhelmingly reelected. Understanding that I have been a visible, community active fire commissioner for the past eight years meant that I had a degree of name recognition. A post card mailing to absentee voters certainly helped. But 65% in the face of such opposition, it had to be something else. Conversations with voters at the polls and within my own community helped me to understand the underlying basis for my success. Through social media I was making contact and making positive impressions of thousands of voters that knew little about fire districts, fire commissioners, etc. Mail bit, Facebook, and web site all combined, in my opinion , to establish my message, "reelect Jim Burke." I could not have made that happen on my own. I don't have enough technical knowledge to even attempt it. But I was working with Russell Tuff and his company, "Social-Impact." Not only did Russell provide unlimited technical input, he patiently worked with and advised me on effective messaging. In addition he convinced me that we had to be consistent in delivering the message. I can strongly recommend that Social-Impact be considered by individuals, companies, organizations in need of effective out reach messaging to target audiences. I certainly got mine out to 33,000 NCFD voters thanks to Russell Tuff and Social-Impact.
