I had an overwhelmingly positive experience working with Applied Imagination on the redesign of my company's website. The AI team (Kara, Jennifer, Joan) were prompt, attentive, and patient as we described what we needed from our future website. They made data-driven decisions by pulling from website statistics, focus groups, and survey data, alongside industry best practices. Working under a tight deadline, the AI team were able to flex and meet our needs while staying on-time and on-budget. Overall, this was the best experience I've ever had working with a vendor, and I would gladly work with them again.

So disappointed. We hired this company to produce an e-commerce Shopify website. The design for the site was based on a purchased template they grabbed on the Shopify marketplace. From day one we were promised the moon and the stars but just 1 year after being handed the site we realize we paid for a pretty postcard that is not updatable unless we hire them a second time to work on the code they have hidden. The "dynamic" design of the homepage only really works with the one image and 5 words they used to design it on day one. The search optimization is non-existent and has no meta. Every time we receive an update notification from Shopify we assume the crash position. In regards to the experience - over almost two years we were passed around to 4 different designers that each felt they had better ideas than the previous one and would start applying Band-Aids to the code. The process was estimated to take 6 months. Two years later we finally had enough and just paid them the remaining $ and prayed for the best. Needless to say I would NOT recommend this "company".

We have been working with AI for several years. Their customer service and responsiveness is consistently outstanding. They provide input into design and make recommendations. Special shout out to Marc whose technical expertise, professionalism, patience, guidance and incredible work ethic is rare. Their internal communication is also excellent. You feel like a valued partner, not a client.

The firm I work with was in the middle of rebranding and we were planning to completely overhaul our website. Not just design - everything. We were starting from scratch. We submitted a request for proposal (RFP) to several web development agencies of all sizes. From the moment I received the proposal from Applied Imagination, they stood out from the pack. Ironically, their proposal stood out because it was not flashy. It didn't have charts and graphs and pull quotes. It didn't try to sell me an SEO program subscription with a website attached. It simply responded directly to the RFP. That's what really stood out. It showed me that the team at AI was prepared to listen for what we needed and not looking to "wowser" their way into a multi-year monthly fee package deal. They reinforced this perception during our first Teams call. They asked good questions and gave realistic feedback on items they recommended against that were included in the RFP and the admittedly really tight deadline that I had set for the project. Once awarded the project, we set milestones, had a handoff to a project manager, and everyone left the kickoff with clear to-dos and expectations. Any time I requested a status update or had a question, Jennifer or Joan were quick to respond, and they gave good advice about hosting and plugin questions that came up along the way. Prior to launch, they provided a CMS training and tools for tracking bugs and any content changes that were needed before launch. I've been a part of several website launches in my career, and this was by far the smoothest. We did all that launching on time and without missing our budget.

Words do not exist that can adequately describe how awesome Applied Imagination is as a business partner. They take time to understand what you need in your web site. We've just gone through a fairly arduous proposal process with the AI team, one that took months, lots of revisions, calls, and emails. (The job was to be for a client of ours.) In the end, we didn't get it, but throughout the process Jennifer and her team were right there at every step. They were smart, responsive, patient, and very helpful. AI was one of four companies we had gotten proposals from, and we were ready to recommend them. We appreciate their efforts and look forward to working with them as soon as the next opportunity presents itself.
