The Tower at Third

My experience at Tower at Third was not great or good at all. I felt like the staff there didn't care about their residents as much as they seemed to advertise. Living there for the first year, it felt so stuffy since the windows didn't and couldn't open. Moving in, I believed that they did open. I would recommend doing something about windows opening since I knew other residents who felt the same. At the very least, let future residents know about this. I decided to lease at Tower for a second year because it is a great location to anywhere on campus(10-15 minutes). I will say that the sunrises and sunsets are stunning if you live on a higher floor. There were benefits to living here, but each floor was the same in layout and was almost like a jail. The location, amenities, and package handling were the only good things I enjoyed about living there. I would not recommend living here, but I wanted to share my truthful and honest experience.

Yes, the staff are helpful. Etc. Etc. Beyond that, the Tower at Third is an impressive feat of industrial engineering and nothing more. I'm not quite sure where to even begin. Let's start with the fact that, in my apartment, there was furniture missing from the photos and layouts that were presented to me online as truthful - or was I to assume to bring my own coat rack, shelves, and bed drawers? I also happen to have friends staying in the Tower and, for the same price, they have different (better) desks than I. Many people are pointing out the fact that the windows don't open, which is a problem, too, but something else that bothered me was the fact that the bathroom fan doesn't turn on - in fact, it's not supposed to turn on, according to staff. In fact, almost everything in the apartment is old and decrepit, and there was always at least something wrong. Beyond the room itself, the corridors, lobby, and about everything else, is a mess. The residents treat this place like a dump and maintenance doesn't seem to care much. It is truly the broken window theory manifest. The tiles on the elevator roofs are constantly torn off, there was oftentimes vomit and other garbage on the elevator floors (of the 2/3 elevators that ever worked), there was cat litter in the lobby that wasn't cleaned for a few days, etc. The washing machines and drying machines were oftentimes broken, dirty, and didn't properly wash nor dry my clothes, and the fact that you have to pay for these services makes it worse. But despite these faults, I was keeping myself from posting a review online. That is, until I was sitting down in my apartment, relaxing after a long day of work, ready to put nice, calming music on, and there it was... Red Lion. When you're touring the apartment, it may not come to mind the fact that there is a loud nightclub feet away from you. After all, you're most-likely touring during the club's non-business hours. You may not regard the fact that, should you sign here, there may be-and there very well is-a constant hum and drum as you try to concentrate on your work, get a good night's rest, read, or do any sort of leisurely activity. And it's not just a hum and drum - I can perfectly hear Rhianna's 2011 smash hit "We Found Love" seeping into the ambiance of Mahler's Fifth Sympathy. And while it is probably no fault of The Tower's, it does perfectly illustrate the tribulations of living here - the selfish behavior of others, the general cold apathy and disregard that everyone in this establishment and around it has of what you would like to do and how you would like to spend your quiet time, and the constant reminder that you will now and forever be bothered so long as you live at the Tower at Third. I did not think to write a review, but I came to the realization that it is better not to be silent. I truly do not want you, the reader, to sign here. There are better options.

I think tower has been really good with management and improved alot of the issues that were previously there. I personally really enjoy my apartment and think it looks really pretty. Plus there are always nice events they throw for us.

The leasing and maintenance staff at the Tower are a huge plus if renting here. They are extremely friendly, understanding of any issues that may arise, and overall determined to make their tenants happy. The units themselves are pretty nice, but you are really paying for the customer service, good location, views, and amenities (great gym, not having to worry about utilities, free food and drinks every other week or so, etc.) Recently, they have been renovating units with new furniture and flooring. The process of updating flooring has been a little tricky, but the staff did a great job working with me to help things go as smoothly as possible.

What truly sets this place apart, though, is the exceptional staff. Their attentiveness and dedication to creating a welcoming environment have made my experience here truly special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place that feels like home!
