Three Oaks Recreation Area

Three Oaks has always been one of my favorite local spots to unwind and have fun. The beach is always a blast a great place to chill with friends, catch some sun, and just enjoy the vibes. Lately, I've also been getting into fishing there, and it's been such a peaceful and rewarding way to spend time. I noticed they're building a new trail, and it already looks like it's going to be an awesome addition. It'll be perfect for both hiking and fishing access once it's finished can't wait to see it completed! With summer kicking off, I'm especially looking forward to getting back out on the water. Boat fishing and paddle boating out on the lake is just unmatched. Three Oaks continues to improve every year; it's definitely a gem in the area.

We went paddle boarding. We took the 2 hr paddle boarding lesson and board time. The instructor Rick and his crew are simply awesome. Rick first trained the group on land, after which water was simply easy. My teenage boys and my husband (who's usually not a water sports person), and our entire group loved it. I'd say more the merrier. If you are a big group, reserve in advance, this place is a hidden gem. I am a patient recovering from GBS, with minimal strength in my hands and legs, and yet I did this easily. The reef under water, the vegetation, the fishes, were fun to watch while standing and paddling. I strongly recommend this place and Rick to everyone. Small group or big, couple or alone, I am sure you will love it. The day we went was a beautiful sunny day, and we really loved the experience. I found it, now I will be there every month in Summer with my boys!!

Amazing service every time, especially in the marina for boat rentals. The trails are beautiful and there's plenty of spots to fish from. Always fast and free for crystal lake residents. All you need is an ID that says you're in crystal lake and you park and enter for free!

If you live in the city and have a current city sticker, parking is free. If not, parking is $5. There are walking trails around a portion of the lake. Several wooden docks with seating, extending onto the water. Great for bird, people, fish watching. Good catch & release fishing spot. The kids always catch something. There is a lot of space to spread out and fish. Several pavilions are for use for free if open or available to rent. Sand volleyball courts inside and outside the beach area. Paddle boats, kayak, sail boats, and small fishing boats available for rent. There is a paddle board shack where you can rent, take lessons, or launch your own paddle board. Beach area open to all residents for free. Can enter without residency for a fee. Beach is really nice with lots of space to stretch out. Covered picnic areas available. Small splash pad & and playground. There is a cafe with food & beverage options with tables and seating. Locker rooms, changing areas, and showers are available. Life jackets are available for free, beach chairs available to rent. There is a shallow portion of the swimming area and a deeper portion with a dock you can swim out to and jump off. Multiple lifeguard stations and the lifeguards rotate in and out constantly. It is a beautiful park with a lot of different options to have a great day outside with the family.

This place is located in the middle of Crystal Lake, but once you step inside, you'll feel like you're miles away from the city. It's a peaceful and relaxing spot that's perfect for families, couples, and people of all ages. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, from renting boats, canoes, paddle boats, and boards to simply soaking up the serene atmosphere. It's definitely my favorite place to visit!

A beautiful and expansive recreation area located in Crystal Lake. Has a small beach area which would be amazing in the summer, and boat and paddleboat rentals (which weren't open yet). Nice place for walking and being out in nature with a playground for kids and some swings placed by the waterside. Lovely outing on a warm day.

Place is amazing. We were in the area and stopped for a walk around the lake. Can't wait to come back when the season starts.

We had no idea they have a full bar and good stand.l and were actually surprised by how busy they were. I could see this being a cool hang out spot during the warmer months. Overall it was clean and well maintained
