We have had GigabitNow as our Internet provider since it first came to our neighborhood in September, 2023. We are very pleased with the service and feel appreciated as customers. Only once did we have to speak to customer service when it was first installed. They answered our questions immediately without any runaround. Since we are retired and don't need faster internet for gaming, we chose the basic plan. It is more than sufficient for our streaming service and our daily internet use on our computer. And, thanks for the free BBQ sandwiches-delicious!
Second follow up from first review. Finally got GigabitNow to get in touch. Spoke to a network specialist. Issues were their problem! They had a bug in their system that caused connection problems with routers. They implemented an internal fix and no issues since then. Have asked for credit in my account due to all the problems. Speed and stability seem to be good so far.
Have basically been without internet for over a week. It comes on sporadically for a couple of hours and then will be out for 10 hours. Called on a Saturday evening and was told someone would be in contact by Monday. Monday came and no one had contacted us. Called them back and they finally got a tech here on Wednesday. He replaced the modem and the ethernet cable, cleaned connections in the box outside. Internet started working for about 2 hours and went out again. I've called every day and have been told it was being escalated and the optics needed to be checked. Here it is Saturday, again. The internet only works intermittently for a total of maybe 5 hours a day. No one has contacted me. We were very excited to have fiber optic internet but it's been a big disappointment. Considering other options due to poor service. We work remotely and this majorly impacts our jobs. I recommend you consider other options if you're needing reliable internet with good tech support, before choosing Gigabitnow. Very disappointed.
Follow up review from a few months ago. Finally got a manager on the phone and went through many possible reasons why service keeps cutting out; sometimes for days. They kept saying it was our router. Convinced them to give us one their routers to try to rule that part out (even through their router doesn't provide all the functionality we need). Tried their router for a few days and still had issues. Went back our router and no issues for 2 months. As soon as we returned their router, problems returned! We have now been without internet for 4 days! Customer service was nice and after some discussion came to the conclusion that it may be their modem. But I had to agree to pay for a home tech visit to deliver the modem and they couldn't guarantee a time frame. Could only put in a work order. Two days pass without a call and now it's the weekend. Fingers crossed they call Monday. Two managers haven't responded to emails about this.
Appalling customer service. I was showing them clear instances of packet loss and what I had done to find that their service was constantly dropping. They argued I was lying (why would I make this up? I just want my internet to work!). Avoid.
They reached out me directly to get service and showed some great deals that they have. I'm saving a bit off my old ATT plan. Their installer called me the next day and set up an appointment in 10 days to connect me to their system. I was on the Council of Neighborhhood Assosciation (CONA) while the city was trying to bring in a city wide service. GigabitNow ended up winning the contract. They are providing an important public service, in that they build throughout the city rather than just the rich neighborhoods, and provide low cost and subsidized service to low income households.
Internet is fast, when it works. Have had intermittent issues off and on for at least 6 months. Call to get support and promised a call back to schedule an onsite technician, but the local contractor never calls. Customer support says they can't do anything to expedite service and don't know when I can get that set up. Appear to be responsive when initially setting up service, but after that it's low priority. Considering other options.
I have had there service for coming up on a year real soon, never have had any real problems. I have called tech support once for slow speeds and my request was handled quickly and proficiently. Speeds have been great i do have an older laptop but consistently get 300 to 600 megs of up and down speed wirelessly. Great service and enjoy having fiber!
