Customer Reviews & Testimonials
This is awful. I've been here for 2 hours. Barely spoken to anyone. Nobody wants to tell you anything. It was a 2 hour appointment. I have now had to cancel another appointment. This is the worst I have ever been treated here. The government has gone to HELL, and there is nothing to do. Wanted to give 0 stars
On: 02/20/25 Me and my friend went looking for this place, and noticed it was not located in the same address it use to be (understandable), So I pulled over to use my GPS to direct me there. It took me to another building but "Work One" was not located at that building anymore. We walked down the street and found a small gift shop. I asked the young lady where was Work One located? She proceeded to take me to the same place where we just left. She stated she didn't know? That the establishment had move to another location (Again!) SMH After walking a little further? (Mind You!) It is very, very cold outside! We finally found it. There was a tiny sign posted in a window; That you would CLEARLY MISS If you didn't know where you were going The ladies who greeted us were very nice They explained? That no one was there to assist us in looking for employment; Because there was no heat in the building A violation of the HIPPA Law. Although me and my friend left our names and phone numbers? It would be best if they didn't try to connect us.
42 U.S.C. SS2000a (a)All persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations of any place of public accommodation, as defined in this section, without discrimination on the ground of race, color, religion, or national origin. Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in the activities of public accommodations. Public Accommodations are considered to be businesses including private entities that are open to the public or that provide goods or services to the public. They complained about how many copies and faxes I needed. One lady said that's a lot of ink. I heard the same lady walk off and call me crazy. As I was leaving two women made sure I saw them set the alarm as I was waiting on an Uber. I saw a police car circle the block three times before I met my Uber ride.
Place is a joke. Need to figure out a system for seasonal workers in resea classes. Wasted taxpayer resources. Wasted 2 hours sitting in a room doing nothing just to tell them that I work seasonally every year and have a job. Been forced to come here over 20 times in the past 3 years and tell them the same thing every time. Worry about people who need jobs instead of seasonal workers who have jobs
I supposedly missed an appointment, but never received any type of correspondence for the appointment. I immediately called them, because they didn't pay me, and was told that someone would call me. It's been over a week, and after calling them several more times, to see what the issue is, I was told the standard line since the pandemic-- we're understaffed and have too much work. It's beyond ridiculous and irresponsible to not have any protocol in place to prevent this from happening to people. The only reason why I'm giving two stars, is due to the office staff being empathic to my situation. If Google rated in half stars, it would definitely be a one star rating. This is the second time, in my working career that I've had to file for unemployment, and I hate it.
In my life I've worked since I was 13 years old with only about 5 years off of work when my daughter was born. Roughly I have about 27 years of work behind me. I've never had to file unemployment in my life until Fehring Printers suddenly shut down, leaving me without a job in 2021. Filing was a terrible experience!! The Hammond Office was only open when I was first trying to file. The employees who helped me file that day were so helpful. After my initial visit, I needed help and advice and tried to go there multiple times only to find them closed. I have been working at a new job for a year and unemployment is still asking me for documents. They are saying that I may have to pay them back what they approved me to get when I was unemployed (when my employer suddenly shut down) if I don't send them some documents that I already sent months ago. I wish I never filed. Why is this system in place when working people can't use it when they need it? I am very disappointed in the Indiana Department of Unemployment. Maybe this should be sent to the BBB, FTC, Attorney General and the News. Someone other than you needs to hear this.
I've called countless of times and left at LEAST 5 or 6 voicemails with a call back number to get ahold of me for a few weeks now. Every time I call, I wait two minutes and get sent to voicemail. The MAYBE two times someone answered, I was transferred and STILL didn't get ahold of someone... Unprofessional and frustrating
Im sitting here for 16 minutes at a appointment. No one has helped me they standing around eating popcorn, mind you I have checked in and imnon time.
