OpenCom Internet and Voice

Have been with them 10+ years and I can't recommend them highly enough. Their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I have had them in my basement at 8 pm after the office closed to make sure the problem wasn't in the house. I purchased a router from them that was having issues 2 years after purchase and they exchanged it no questions asked. They also set up the router so you can just go home and plug it in.

I experienced several service outages in 2019 and 2020. In 2021 the service has been reliable. My experiences with the customer service at OpenCom have been pleasant. In 2022, they have both responded to and very promptly resolved on-site issues. The customer service over the phone is very good. Edit: Landlord switched to Mediacom in Spring 2023. My download speed went from 7mbps to 400mbps.

While their customer service has been pleasant to talk to, my internet stays terrible with almost regular speed interruptions and weird connectivity in only specific parts of the apartment. Cannot rely on this network. Edit1: This is not a single device issue by any means. I have tested this on 4 different personal devices at various times and all I feel is that it is unreliable with reliability getting abysmal in the night. I also had people stay with me experience the same on their devices. I know some neighbors are going through the same issue and essentially stopped depending on the internet here in this building. While when it works the speeds are okay (or close to what's offered) it keeps switching to terrible speeds. Edit2:They have updated my connection and I get a somewhat better connection now.

I have been with OpenCOM for years - for my business downtown and then my home. The service almost never goes down - I can't remember the last time it wasn't working. My kids stream movies all the time with no problems. This is a good company and Omar is very responsive if you have any problems.

The apartment I moved into this year came with free internet that was supplied by OpenCom. Everything was fine in the beginning: connection was slow (but expected since it's DSL), never lost connection, etc. For whatever reason the connection has recently been cutting out every few hours. Sometimes I will even get kicked off the modem and need to log-in again. Whatever you do, don't buy service from OpenCom, it's way over-priced for the speeds you get. If your apartment comes with free internet and it's OpenCom, insist to your manager that they look into something different.

I used Opencom for internet at an office I was renting. The connection was very reliable and the billing was straight forward and fair. When I left the office and it came time to cancel service they took care of it without any hassle. Their service was a welcome change from what I am used to experiencing from internet providers.

Worst internet provider I have ever seen. The network is so unreliable that I often get internet speeds of about 0.15Mbps even though my plan should provide me 4Mbps. It also suddenly logs you out of the network requiring you to re-login.
