Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Tried to get a dns issue resolved. They refused to help. I already use Google. They only tried to sell me. Pathetic.com should be the name. There are good providers. A friend referred me. 1.5 stars Indian Do not care providers.
Absolute worst experience ever with a client who tried to migrate over from greengeeks to them. Horrible it support from an Indian who barely knew the language. Going forward, I will never recommend Bluehost to anyone, ever.
If I could give them a negative number, I would. I attempted to cancel my account with them after getting a free domain registration with hosting. After being inundated with incessant emails, I tried to cancel and get a partial refund minus the registration fee. They initiated a fraudulent registration for a second domain name in my account without my knowledge so they could justify not giving me a partial refund. IMHO, this company borders on a criminal enterprise.
Personnally had a great experience with bluehost for my domain and web hosting, the support team is always there to help if you need something or you have an issue.
I wish I had read the prior reviews before engaging with this company. I created a simple static website for my grandson's business. I've created my own websites before (using coding), so it wasn't that difficult to do. However, the one thing that I need to work is the "Contact Us" page, so that customers can contact him directly. It is a simple web form, but it doesn't work. I can't tell what the problem is. It all looks good to me. I have emailed Bluehost several times, no response. I did the "Chat" thing and spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone with someone who couldn't fix the problem. I finally had to hang up. This should be a simple fix for a technician that is supposed to build websites. Frustrated does not begin to describe how I feel about this place.
I would rather give this company a zero, but there is no option for that. Do not use Bluehost for hosting yours, or any of your clients' websites. Their customer service and "support" is absolutely horrible. None like I have ever experienced. They completely broke our site, and claimed it was because of our template....wrong!! All of their responses are scripted and they can't answer specific questions and keep repeated the same response over and over again. Get your hosting from elsewhere!
On October 18, 2023, because Bluehost hosts my domain name, I spoke to Christine, who had originally called on an unrelated matter but offered Bluehost as an option. Bluehost only offers web design and would not migrate information from my old website so it was a deal breaker, but she gave me some additional tips on how my website could improve, which I added to my list. I still use Bluehost as my domain.
I've been with Bluehost for over 6 years and in February of this year renewed with them for the third time. All that time, they've been reliable, and any time I've had an issue, I could get a helpful person on the phone. But in September 2023, they informed me via email that instead of grandfathering me in with the plan I've had for years, they are going to impose storage limits on a tiered basis, and my basic plan won't cover the amount of storage I've built up on my photo-heavy travel blog over 6 years. The rate has climbed for each 3-year renewal, in Feb it was around $360, and now, not even a third of the way into my contract, they want *$677* MORE in order to keep hosting my blog for the remainder of my term. Renewal after that is almost $1000! They informed me in late September for a change that will take place Nov. 1. Not on my next renewal date, but part way through my current contract. I don't understand how this is even legal, and it certainly feels unethical. They've basically taken my blog hostage until I pay up. It goes without saying that they've lost my trust. Who's to say that in another 6 months, they won't demand another pay increase? They can just break the hosting contract at any time. I would have understood if this were announced months in advance of my next renewal, but to do it mid-contract is despicable, and on such short notice. My only solutions will cost me more than I've already paid - either a higher tier, moving to a different host, or finding off-site storage. Right here during high inflation and heading into the holiday season. I'm screwed - I just don't have the money. I planned for the renewal fee, but an out-of-the-blue extra hundreds of dollars? For me, that means 6 years of work down the drain, just like that. What a terrible thing to do to your customers. Bluehost should be ashamed of themselves.
