Salem Uncovered Tours

We came to Salem with no plans for a tour and found this on our way via Google. It was our first time in Salem and what a treat to have Jeffery as our guide. Jeffrey brings a strong sense of both the humor and the seriousness of history into an entertaining walk through the city. He is a talented storyteller, stringing the narrative together in an interesting and often humorous way while still being respectful of the deeply complex and tragic circumstances of the times leading up to the trials and events during. I would recommend taking this tour ten times over. An easy and enjoyable walk through history.

Caroline was a FANTASTIC tour guide who really delved deep into the history of the Salem Witch Trials. This tour emphasizes how fear and paranoia feed into every event, feeding into one another. It is also worth to mention why Salem's witch trials were different than other places around the world, there were male victims. The tour starts across from 15 Front Street near the cement block of Houdini Way. Throughout each stop, Caroline explains the true, unapologetic history of the area with a few jokes sprinkled in. She was extremely engaging and her story went along with a pace that felt appropriate. I MOST DEFINITELY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to experience another side of the Salem coin, more historical and less paranormal. In the words of our lovely tour guide herself, this tour was Most Good!

If you are debating on which tour to do, Better than Fiction is amazing!! We loved going on the Dark Stories of Salem walking tour! Jeff was an amazing tour guide. He was a great story teller of the dark history of Salem and the Witch Trials. He made the tour so fun and entertaining, while still conveying the sad truths around what the victims of the witch trials endured. After walking all day, I was worried my feet would hurt on the walking tour at night. If you were comfortable shoes, your feet will be fine. It was not a far walk. We stopped at multiple sites to learn the history behind each one.

What a cool experience! Jeffrey was extremely knowledgeable about all of Salem's dark history and his funny personality made the experience 100x better!!! If you're coming to Salem I HIGHLY recommend taking this tour before doing anything else, the knowledge you take from the tour greatly increases the Salem experience!

A group of us took the Dark History tour with Christian last Friday. Our guide was simply amazing; mastery of Salems complex history, fun and entertaining and kept the group moving! We started off our tour with the legendary Houdini and his escape from the Salem jail and moved on to the spooky Charter St Cemetery. Perhaps the most impressive part of the tour was the infamous White murder. Christian's knowledge of this legendary crime was insane and we were all hanging on his every word! I highly recommend this tour with Christian. As a historian and a local I can honestly say it's one of the best out there.

This was a very good tour (Dark Stories of Salem). I've taken many, where they were super corny and over done with weird theatrics. This is not what this tour is about. It is well presented, entertaining and laid back with a great story teller. Highly recommend! Guide was fun and very knowledgeable.

This was a fantastic tour and great way to spend the morning in Salem. We couldn't get tickets to the attractions and honestly, I am glad we did this instead. We loved hearing about the history and context of the Salem Witch Trials. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommend!

Book this tour! Jeffery was an excellent guide! Even with busy streets, it was easy to hear Jeffrey speak and see all the landmarks. My husband and I booked the Dark History and Murder tour and really enjoyed it! We would definitely return for another tour and are going to listen to the podcast (Salem The Podcast)! P.S. Jeffrey has the best shoes, make sure you compliment them!
