Revize

We just launched our new City of Ottumwa website and the process was great from start to finish. The key is being part of the process. This will give you a site that you can take charge of and be happy to share with others. The CMS that Revize uses is very easy to use. We were able to do most of our pre-launch editing before the official training sessions. The customer service has been great, too. Most submitted issues get acknowledged within an hour or two with many items being fixed in less than a day. I took off one star due to the CMS not being fully "what you see is what you get" (WYSIWYG) and limited capabilities when it comes to getting pictures down to the small size it allows. These are both minor issues and really only affect those wanting more control of a site and photographers that prefer having images with more resolution and data. Revize is a great option for a community stepping up their website game and/or needing to meet the new Department of Justice ADA requirements going into effect in the near future.

If you're looking for a frustrating, outdated, and overpriced CMS, then Revize is the perfect choice. Our company made the mistake of using them for our website, and it's been a nightmare ever since. Sure, the site looks decent, but actually managing it is a different story. Their CMS is by far the most confusing, unintuitive platform I've ever had to deal with, making even the simplest updates a tedious task. Customer support? Barely existent. It takes weeks to get a response to a ticket, and when they finally do respond, they're either unhelpful or just blame 'migration errors'--errors that they caused in the first place. Broken images, missing pages, and random issues pop up constantly, and you never know when they'll decide to make updates that break things without notice. On top of that, they nickel and dime you for every little request. Want something fixed? That's an extra charge. Need actual functionality beyond a pretty homepage? Be ready to pay up. Honestly, you'd be better off with WordPress, Squarespace, or literally any other service. Revize makes everything harder than it should be, and for the price, you're much better off going elsewhere.

The Revize team is outstanding. We have had their website for five years and just went through an entire site refresh. The team is helpful, professional, highly skilled, super-responsive and fun. We are delighted with the updates made during the refresh; however, even before this refresh, our site never got stagnant. Every time we have had an idea for improvements, the Revize team has been receptive and helpful and we have done substantial improvements to the site with Revize almost annually. Editing is super-easy, too. The trainer Denise is spectacular and almost every editor who attended her training commented on how good and how fun she is. Thomas Jean and Alison Bieber were our project managers and are fantastic and keep track of all the things going on, superbly. Our designer Toshe is incredible and took all our desires and produced them quickly into an awesome site. Seriously - AMAZING JOB, REVIZE!!!! I love our partnership.

Honestly, you get what you pay for. My company's website was designed by Revize, and while it looks good visually, it genuinely does not work very well. Having utilized several different web platforms in the past, I can say that Revize's CMS is the least user friendly and most confusing I've ever used. This alone wouldn't be a major problem, but their customer service is also lacking. There are a lot of broken images on our current site, and any time we bring it up with Revize, the answer is always that there must've been "an error in migration" from our old site. Since they are the ones who handled the entire process, it's kind of crazy they didn't save and transfer over all of our old images themselves. Support tickets in general can take up to 2-3 weeks to be answered, and they do not always send out a notice when they make web updates themselves. This has caused some of our pages to disappear from the site entirely only for a Revize employee to fix their mistake hours later. Anyways, I also noticed a fair amount of these positive reviews come from small to medium sized city governments, so again...you get what you pay for. There are much much better web designers out there, but they're definitely more expensive.

As the Communications & Public Information Officer for a 15,000 resident township in central New Jersey, I deal with dozens of vendors every year and I have yet to come across a smarter, more accommodating, efficient and professionally courteous company as Revize. They entered our sphere in 2015 as we were in the process of rebuilding our dated & tired website; even their online presentation via 'GoTo Meeting' before meeting face to face was a home run and they easily won the bid. From page design selection, to content migration to a non-pressurized sales approach and 1st rate technical support - both via its online portal and over the phone - we could not be happier with our choice. The Township is entering our fifth year with Revize and we have no plans to look anywhere else for our website needs any time soon.

Switching the website for Somerton, Arizona over to Revize has been such an easy process. Our previous company was not very user-friendly when it came to making changes to the website, but with Revize it is super simple. Their Content Management System (CMS) is wonderful for non-technical people making edits to the site on the fly. Tech support was always there when we needed help, even after regular work hours. We are glad to have gone with Revize and recommend you do as well!

Revize is a beehive of creative thinkers who are interested in putting your organization's communication objectives front and center. They're extremely easy to work with and they're engaged every step of the way. Before, during and after Revize did our site build, they were super responsive any time we had questions or concerns. & they're always open to new ideas too. We couldn't be happier!

Slow tedious process, lacking modern development skills, poor quality service after the sale, and fees for everything. They make anything asked of them look difficult. Stick with WordPress or AWS and host yourself for a tenth the cost. (It will still be easier to maintain yourself than using their cms)
