Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Was a socket DSL customer and loved both the service and the customer service. I was unable to have them again until this past winter and while the actual internet suffices, the customer service you received over the phone, online, or in person, they all suck. They keep passing the blame to other departments for not responding to tickets or taking out extra money from my bank account. Now they don't even see that they took out all the money that my bank is showing that they took out so I now have to dispute with my bank in order to get my own money back. The fact that I spoke to four people, one of which was in person, and they still can't figure out how the fourth payment this month came out is beyond me. If you don't mind being financially ripped off feel free and sign up with them.
We had socket installed in February of this year and we didn't realize until a couple of weeks after the technician installed, that he had broke a huge chunk out of our siding. We called and were told to send a picture to their "restoration" department. After two more weeks we called back. They had a service supervisor come out to look at it. He showed my husband that the tech had actually uploaded a picture of a completely different house when he was finished with the install to hide the fact that he broke our siding. The supervisor told us that he would contact a siding company and get them out to fix it. He also said that he would let us know when it would be after he talked to them. It has now been over a month since the supervisor was out and our siding is still not fixed. I have called 3 times now asking for updates on when this will be fixed and keep getting told that a service team member will call me before the end of the day. 3 months of this back and forth is absolutely unacceptable. For anyone thinking of getting this installed, make sure you watch them do the job. And don't let them leave if they break something. Otherwise you'll never get it fixed.
The internet has been super reliable. Unfortunately when there was an outage, which I understand happens, customer service was not willing to reimburse me for the inconvenience. I work remote and it is very inconvenient to lose internet. The least socket could do is reimburse for the inconvenience. Definitely more reliable internet than Mediacom, but Mediacom customer service was better and they were willing to reimburse for outages.
Put a link on your emails so patrons can make payments easier. Plus, Socket does not allow my financial institution, which is Missouri credit union to make payments through their applications so I think Socket has some work to do on their Bill paying aspects.
Socket has a wrong address, and so someone living in the opposite street ordered the installation on my property. The workers came without notice and had screws onto my brick wall mortar and I will need to fix it myself, as they denied their responsibility. The drilled holes are 3 times more than needed to attach the conduit, which is far from professional. It's simply a trespassing and unwanted damage. The city even has not marked underground pipes yet before they start the damage. Thank God that the dig has not started otherwise it is an even bigger problem. Very bad, frustrating experience. Horrible indeed. I would give 0 stars if there is such an option. AVOID! Added Information: After first time asking them to take their installation away and confirmed with the customer representative, this afternoon I found their worker installed another one on my property! Horrible! They just wanted the installation and the damage regardless of what you contacted them! AVOID!!!
Justin was absolutely wonderful helping me figure out a billing issue when my card on file had expired. After already having had a long day, this situation could have added to my mental workload. Justin was able to get this situation handled with empathy and humor. I truly hope Socket knows what a great team member they have!
This has been the most frustrating experience I have had with customer service. This process has taken a couple of months. They have had to make 10 or more visits to our home to get this complete. Sometimes arriving on a Saturday evening. Today on Saturday morning they are knocking on our door at 830 am to finally bury cable that has been laying out there for over 3 weeks. Most times no one would even knock on door, we would just see some random man walking around the backyard. In stead of coming through gate they were just jumping over tge fence to have access to yard
I am a current Socket customer and I am satisfied with my internet. However, I am very disappointed with Sockets customer service. I have made many attempts to resolve the fact that after my fiber was installed the box that was put in the ground was put in to low. Now when it rains the thing fills with water and this black thing pops out. Then this winter my granddaughter was walking and it was covered with snow and she fell in. I did not complain when your contractor cracked the sidewalk. Socket this needs to be fixed!!! I have called left messages talked to your people and it still is a problem. This is on Blue Cedar Ln Columbia MO. I will be posting this on all social media I can find until you fix this.
