Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino

Great place to stay and gamble a bit while on our way to snowbird in AZ. Has water and electric at site in parking lot and dump station. Trash dumpster just for RV area. $15/night for up to 10 nights. Nice casino. Big enough but not overwhelming. Nice horse track too. Was fun to watch the horse races the day we arrived. Would stay again!

We went on a Saturday morning specifically for the horse racing. No issues getting in. They will search larger bags, but my friend had no issues with a coffee in a clear cup. Races run every 20 minutes or so, so you do not have to be there exactly at the first post time (you'll just miss the first race). The employees are quite friendly and very willing to explain how to place a bet. It's cash only but they have an ATM on site. I would've appreciated a map a little more to see where things are. They have several options for viewing the races! Inside is an auditorium-like setup with multiple races on TVs, facing the outside race track. You can also go watch the race from the finish line side outside. Lastly there are also personal tables/booths with small personal TVs that can be used. There are American food and drink options at the restaurant in the casino. We stayed for a few races and made some small bets and had a great time. Would come back again.

Travelers and RV s: As of December 22nd, 2024 the hotel parking lot has 8 RV hook ups. FCFS. Water and electric with a dump station across the parking lot. $15/night for up to 10 nights. The asphalt is level and big rig friendly along with the road and parking lot. They do not allow dry camping in their lot, in order to stay parked after the casino closes you have to pay to hook up. They have 24 hour security (they are friendly and helpful) that will ask you to leave if you dry camping. Keep this in mind as there are no signs communicating this. We called to confirm it was okay for us to stay there and that is how we learned their rules. Other fun things to note: -every employee we came in contact with was happy and helpful. -the casino is smoker friendly. -no alcohol allowed in the casino! There is a lounge connected by a walk way. The lounge had a live mariachis band, full bar, and grill. Tacos, quesadillas, nachos. -Hotel seemed really nice and had an outdoor patio with fire. -no coffee or cafe. Saying all that this was a perfect easy spot for us to rest after driving 700 miles in one day! Thank you for offering this clean and safe service for travelers!

Great Experience at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino offers a fantastic selection of slots, video poker machines, and electronic table games, making it a fun place to spend a few hours. Positives: Excellent Staff: The staff at Sunland Park are outstanding. They are friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. Nice Atmosphere: The casino has a pleasant atmosphere, and the overall experience was very enjoyable. Negatives: Smoking: The downside is that it is a smoking casino. When the casino is very crowded, the smoke can be a little overbearing. Despite the smoke, I had a great time and would recommend Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino for its excellent staff and enjoyable gaming experience.

I can see if it was horse racing season how Sunland Park might be a fun place for a day trip. Apart from that it's the strangest casino I've ever visited. There are no table games, it's all slots and gambling machines of various flavors. One minor annoyance is not being able to drink in the casino...no alcohol. That's a New Mexico thing and it needs to change. It's a stupid restriction. The restaurant food is aggressively average and, if the racetrack is going, expect food and beverage to be easily overwhelmed. The slots game play, while limited, is fairly decent. I gambled a good two hours and came away in the green. I'd call it pretty fair play. All the same, the lack of decent food, the middle of nowhere location and quirky arrangement of the casino is not at all compelling for a return trip. I felt sorry for the staff, who were exceptionally nice. Again, just not enough to warrant a second trip. The the northwest corner of El Paso is just yucky and construction on I-10 makes it a place to be avoided at all costs.

Had a Girls Day out & headed here to better on horse races.. didn't win, but we enjoyed the beautiful day!!

It was a quick stop while visiting El Paso & it was a fun time with my husband. I didn't think I'd enjoy it not having actual gaming tables but it was pretty good.

Drew truly stands out as the most exceptional bartender I've encountered at this casino! He crafted our drinks to perfection, and his customer service was nothing short of outstanding! His attentive demeanor made our experience feel exceptional. CHEERS!!!
