Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Had a wonderful time touring the Statesville NC Distillery with my adult children. We had an amazing time. Cannon was our tour guide. The knowledge and samples was simply delicious! Our bartenders Joe Pentzak and Patrick Anderson made some of the best tasty and most beautiful looking drinks. If this place was closer to me I'd probably end up in rehab from the tasty beverages.
Went on a great tour with my dad where Cannon broke down how the "sausage is made". He was super informative and able to answer all of my groups questions. We tasted a ton of products and left with a delicious (award winning) bourbon. Before checking out, Patrick really helped us navigate the wide selection of items to purchase so we selected the right stuff. The entire staff was great even Amanda who was bar tending and came out to great us when we walked in to help us check in for our tour.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the distillery. The facility was beautiful and impeccably clean. The spirits they produce are of high quality, and the cocktails they offer are delicious. The tour was well worth our time, and our guide, Joe, did an outstanding job. His knowledge of bourbon and its history in North Carolina was impressive and greatly appreciated. I certainly plan to return.
Great place and best experience here. Alex treated me like royalty. I drove here in a tractor trailer, called ahead and told I could park next to the building. Alex met me outside and directed me around back to the docks to park. Here then walked me through the manufacturing facility and introduced me to the bar tender explaining who I was and that when I was finished I would go back to the docks to nap in my truck. Best high rye I have ever had the pleasure to taste. Don't miss this Distillery, true professionals and very courteous.
We visited Southern Distilling for a tour and afterwards, we ended up staying in the tasting room for over an hour. We were treated like VIPs by the staff and tasted some phenomenal single barrel offerings, as well as the best old fashioned cocktail that I have ever had. The staff and the offerings at Southern Distilling are both exceptional, and we continued to be treated like VIPs after our visit when the Chief Marketing Officer reached out to us to thank us for our feedback and to welcome us back anytime.
Man, I swung by Southern Distilling Company last Sunday, and let me tell ya -- this place ain't just makin' whiskey, they're out here runnin' a five-star bourbon boot camp. I took the tour, learned more in 45 minutes than I did in two years of community college. Turns out 80% of their juice goes to other little distilleries who use their kitchen and stash their barrels like it's grandma's root cellar. Makes sense though -- place is loaded with big ol' tanks and gadgets that look like NASA took up drinkin'. Everyone I met was sweeter than a church potluck in July. Southern hospitality turned all the way up. And the whiskey? Buddy... it tasted like a warm bowl of peach cobbler that got baptized in oak barrels. I ain't lyin'. Smooth enough to sip, strong enough to make you start textin' your ex "just to check in." If you're anywhere near Statesville and don't stop by, that's on you. This place is a gem -- and not the fancy kind. The kind you find in your granddaddy's tackle box that's been good luck since '68.
This was such an awesome distillery to visit. If you are in the area, definitely recommend putting this spot on your to-do list. It is $15 for the tour, which is well worth it. You can book online or at the distillery. They are very accommodating. The staff here were absolutely amazing from our tour guide, bartender, and store sales person. They do all rolls. Stephanie was amazing and had such great energy. Be sure to ask her for life advice. Lol. She was awesome and funny. The tour was great, and the tasting at the end was perfect. We really enjoyed everything and left with great merchandise and a few extra bottles to take home.
I have picked up a few of these bottles and have been super happy. Sadly out of the 3 bottles I have had 2 of the corks have come completely apart when opening them. I hope a local spot like this keeps making great stuff and invests in continuing improvement! Will keep buying this when it's available!
