Customer Reviews & Testimonials
Last month when I went in to pay my bill, I asked the guy at the register how much it would cost me to get basic cable. It wasn't really a lot, so he suggested that I take a cable box, set it up and that I could use it for 30 days for free. Well, yesterday I got a bill for $117. According to the bill, I'm being charged $40 for the use of the cable box that the guy told me was free for 30 days. During the time that I had cable, I noticed a lot of tiling and fuzzy channels. Also, I noticed that most of the channels I was getting were the same exact channels I get using a digital antenna that you can purchase at Walmart. I was seriously thinking about getting cable, but now that I find out that it's the same channels with a digital antenna, the hell with that BS. Buckeye Cable thinks that just because they are the only ones who provide cable service to this area, they want to be adding more service charges every month. And just so you know, did you know that they charge you for the copies of the bill they send you???? If this is the case, then I'll just have to tell them not to be sending me a bill in the mail.
My mother has buckeye cable and its been a total cluster. I would like to state that she lives in north toledo and she had no internet for more then three days. This was a horrible time for her as she is elderly and not only would this cause anxiety. I have heard recently that more then a hundred employees will be laid off at the end of March 2025. Buckeye is going to try to add mobile phone plans at the costs of these one hundred employees. Also according to the news they are going to outsource alot of the call center employees to people that will work pennies on the dollar. I am thinking not only is it hard now to navigate the customer service aspect of this company, now you won't be able to understand any of these people that are screwing you around with all of the proration crap they throw at you. I am wondering will you even be able to understand any of these new people that are from foreign countries? Alot of the cusotmer base are elderly and not only dod you not get a discount your depending on elderly people like my seventy six year old mother to navigate this process. This company is horrible and also facist as well. I would like to speak for all of lucas county as thank you for selling us out to the devil. I was helping my my other aunt today who had tivo. This was ok, but the representative had a bit of a clue, I mean I can't imagine what the customer care is going to be like when March 31, 2025. This is when they outsource one hundred job to an overseas market. This is going to be horrible, I mean they now charge a $4.00 line fee. If something happens to the line and the customer is now responsible for the lines that buckeye installs outside your house? This is another cash grab when it comes to maximizing profitability and minimizing the customer! Welcome to Buckeye Max, a cell phone service that is not going to be success, if you keep outsourcing these positions.
This whole past year I have had the worst runaround with buckeye.. today I was on the phone for 6 hours and 3 different representatives & ended up hanging up the phone owing what I still owed which has been DOUBLE my bill and having another $140 added to my last bill! With an appointment for fiber tomorrow?.. I don't even know how that even happened.. buttttt I had one representative reach out to me and took her time and explained everything to me like a grown adult and like she KNEW what she was talking about! She ended up saving me over $100.. her customer service skills are over the top. Buckeye is EXTREMELY lucky to have her as a retail consultant bless your whole heart Conswala for having the patience for dealing with me and reaching out on your own to help me understand and save! Because of her, and her alone I'll be keeping Buckeye! I'm so sorry to everyone dealing with issues & not getting no answers!
I paid my bill twice in one month because I always pay my Bills early, I was told they did not receive my payment when in fact, I contacted my bank and it went to them. I still have no answers. I guess I have to visit the hub for them to help me and show proof of payment from them, trying to steal from me. So now they are saying, I owe a double payment next month. I will be canceling
I have basic cable only I canceld my phone today because my phone was not working for months I have 7 boxes no Internet and my bill is sti over two hundred dollars I paid two hundred and twenty nine dollars today every month my bill goes it been like that for years they take your money and there's nothing you can do about and they put the poor people to deal with angry customers it's not there fault buckeye cable is robbing people blind some one needs to investigate them
They are so over priced but held a virtual monopoly in the Sandusky area. Now that there are actual options (other than AT&T as they are as bad is not worse) and customers are leaving, they are messing with the disconnect and deactivation of services to try to get another month or two of payments out long time customers. Other than a few specific individuals their customer service has been inadequate at best, now it is non-existent.
Waited 2 days in a row, no technician showed up for installation. They might be cheaper than other broadband but didn't even get chance to test their Internet. (-1/10)
If you have the time, sit back and read the tale of my epic journey that started when I saw a billboard telling me how fast Buckeye Broadband is "now in my area". The sign is within view of the address for which I would require service.. Thinking that perhaps it would be a better option than my current provider, I went and filled out the online forms to check what plans might be available in my area. I got all the way through entering my address and selecting a plan that looked solid enough that I decided to proceed to finalizing an installation date. I clicked on the next available business day. The next thing that loaded was a page saying "We cannot verify which services are available in your region". You know, the region from which I can see a billboard explaining that their services are available. I'm prompted to call a phone number, which appears to be a test to see if you have the skill and patience to hold long enough and punch enough numbers to be put in touch with a human. Once I finally got through the trials I was connected with two guardians. They had a riddle; one always lies and the other that always tells truth and I had to guess whether to pick the number 0 or the # symbol to talk to a person. I won't spoil the riddle, but when I was connected with a human, they said to go to the website to order and hung up. At this point, I was hungry and thirsty from my quest, so I took some time to rehydrate before considering how to proceed. Thinking that I probably don't want to deal with a company that puts me in a never-ending loop of contact links and a mythical quest for a human being to talk to, I simply gave up and resigned myself to using my current internet provider. I forget about the whole thing. That is until the next day. There in my email inbox was an invitation asking me to finalize the "order that [I] started". Out of curiosity I clicked on the link in the email and it launched a chat with an "AI that is just learning". After a significant amount of arguing with what I can only assume is a poorly ported chat GPT clone, I was finally connected with what was claimed to be a human via chat. That human posted the phone number on which I had previously quested and disconnected the chat session. Then I got a notification that I had received a new email. You guessed it, this was buckeye inviting me to complete the onboarding process by starting a chat with the AI. Every morning I'm greeted by a similar email informing me that I simply need to complete the online process to set up my new service and every morning the link leads to the same AI. At this point, I'm wondering if I am the victim of some elaborate prank or involved in some form of sketch comedy. Nonetheless, I am determined to at least see what, if any, services are available, 100 yards from the billboard they paid for. I call the main number which explains that new customers should call the specific number for their region, which of course is the number that directed me to the website that directed me to the chat, that directed me to the number, that directed me to the chat. You see where this is going. Despite living next to the billboard, telling me how much faster my service could be with Buckeye, I am still at a loss as to how I would go about obtaining this service. Even though I have given up on using this company or the services it allegedly provides, I still get a friendly email every few days inviting me to complete the onboarding process by clicking a link that directs me to..... You guessed it, the AI chat that is "just learning". I don't know if Buckeye offers internet service to any real human beings, And if they do where they live. But I can say with some level of certainty that they have invested in billboards in areas where the only service they seem to offer is an endless loop of automated phone prompts, AI chatbots, and occasionally, an alleged real person in a chat that gives you the original phone number and disconnects.
