Snapshot: They will bill you for everything, even domains that are no longer held with them. Go use literally any other domain hosting service. I used to use have a split between Ionos and another provider for domains, and then I had some domains renew with Ionos and realized it was significantly more expensive than the other provider. So, I transferred them all away. Some of the domains were still under the first year, and since you pay by year with domain hosting, the contract hadn't renewed yet. Well, about three or four weeks later, I got a bunch of emails from them saying I failed to pay a bunch of invoices. In reviewing the invoices, they were for domains that were transferred and not held with Ionos at the time of billing. So I jumped on their chat and spent probably 25 minutes explaining to the rep that those invoices didn't make sense. The rep eventually agreed and said they would cancel them.... Long story short, they cancelled exactly half of the invoices. Since the billing service can't figure their crap out, I felt they could resolve the rest internally. Boy was I wrong, I just received a collections notice. Their default response is "we want to provide the best customer service possible..." which is a flat out lie. If they really felt that way, they would stop creating unnecessary problems. If it takes more than one phone call or one email, I'm going to send them an invoice for having to put up with their nonsense.

I signed up for what seemed like a very good offer -> $13 for a year. I checked everything thoroughly and entered my credit card details. Usual email response saying that I would get a confirmation things were setup within 48 hours!! Well, it didn't take that long but then I spent an hour trying to login thinking it might be slow. Decided to contact support and was surprised there was no online chat. As I live in Indonesia, I did not want call USA and sit on hold with the meter ticking, so I sent an email. I think a standard reply was received saying my country is not supported, you have not been billed, bla, bla, bla. Won't be getting that period of my life back.

Beware of this company, they change your domain to auto renewal right before renewal date and charge you, even if you don't want to renew. I disabled auto renewal way before renewal date and they did that to me and ask to pay for another year. When I called them and explained, they refused to cancel the payment. Do not trust these guys !!!

I was recommended IONOS to host my website, and at first it seemed like a great option, I was upsold on one of their products to help me build the site I wanted for myself. I found it extremely difficult, instructions were hard to follow and I needed much more education in Computer Sciences to really get the full benefit. What I wanted was a much more user friendly experience, and after 4 months I decided to end my relationship with IONOS only to be told I MUST give them a phone call in order to cancel. I found that absolutely awful, I didn't mind them keeping the money for my mistake, but let me cancel without jumping through hoops. For those with great tech skills, I think this product could be for you, but anyone coming from it looking for an easy to design website, I would recommend elsewhere.

Somebody used my card at your site, and it has been reported as fraudulent! Dont know whats going on with the world lately! They need to review that each card belongs to the user! Stop letting people pay (or you stop stealing) for their own goods with someone else's card, it is hard enough to produce money for you all to just keep letting people steal it from hard working ones!!

Unfortunately, I've had the same experience that others have reported. They charged $100 in my account for services that I did not use. When I called IONOS after noticing it on my bank statement, they said that they did not make charges and they had no idea where they were coming from, my bank clearly saw the charges. I've lost trust in them!!! and of course, seems like you're never gonna call from management on the US side. This is so unfortunate.

They give you a short trial period and if you don't cancel you're locked in to a year contract. Very shady business practices. Stay away. They couldn't even get my site to work, so I never used them, and are stuck paying for a year. I went with Interserver.net and am very satisfied with their Windows hosting, and it's much cheaper

Beware of a little loophole when using Ionos. We manage a domain that is under our account and paid for by our business. The owner of the business is listed as well but the username and password belong to us. The owner decided to go over our heads and transfer the account over to her. Which means we got locked out of our own account. She changed the username and password by filing her ownership papers. We would have transferred all of this info to her the right way had she asked. The main problem here is that Ionos transferred everything to her including access to our payment information. This is fraudulent. We have contacted Ionos and they are giving her time to add her payment info or they will flag her account as fraudulent. That does not however, put us at ease as our payment information was accessible to a client. I am not happy that this was allowed.
