Customer Reviews & Testimonials
I would go back to Starlink if not for all of the trees. You can't talk to anyone to fix the mistake that Windstream Kinetic made. This a joke of a company. It should be negative stars.
Windstream's service continues to be extremely unreliable and disappointing. Unfortunately, they have an exclusive contract with our subdivision, making them the only provider available. This lack of competition leaves us with no other options, and the poor service remains unresolved. If you're experiencing similar issues, we encourage everyone in the community to voice their concerns and push for better service or explore ways to introduce additional providers. I can't even begin to express the sheer level of disappointment and frustration I've experienced with Windstream Internet. If you're looking for a headache-inducing, soul-crushing internet service provider, look no further. Where do I even begin? First and foremost, let's talk about their customer service - if you can even call it that. Every single time I've had to call Windstream, they seem to have a magical talent for forgetting my name not once, not twice, but three times during a single call. It's like they're determined to set a new record for incompetence. It's as if I'm talking to a bunch of undertrained robots who couldn't care less about addressing their customers properly. Now, let's dive into the daily ritual of the internet going down. It's like a twisted game of hide and seek, where the internet connection hides and you're the only one seeking. Want to stream a movie? Good luck! Planning on getting some work done? Think again! Windstream's "daily surprise outage" ensures that you never get too comfortable with the idea of a stable internet connection. But wait, there's more! Remember those upload and download speeds they promised when you signed up? Yeah, those are about as accurate as a politician's campaign promises. I'm convinced they measure their speeds in the realm of dial-up, but claim they're offering state-of-the-art broadband. Uploading a simple file becomes a test of your patience, and downloading anything larger than a meme is like watching paint dry - slow and excruciating. What truly boggles the mind is that Windstream seems to operate under the delusion that they're the only internet service provider in the entire universe. They have a complete monopoly in the area, and they clearly revel in this power. Why bother improving their services when they know we're trapped in their web of subpar internet options? It's a classic case of corporate apathy at its finest. In conclusion, if you enjoy the thrill of unreliable service, mind-numbingly slow speeds, and a customer service experience that defies all logic, Windstream Internet is the perfect choice for you. Otherwise, if you have any other options, I implore you to explore them - even if it means moving to a new area. Anything would be better than subjecting yourself to this digital nightmare that Windstream proudly calls "service."
I'm posting this using my cell data. For the 15th time today the Internet went down and I'm waiting for it to restart. The first year we only got half of the speed we were told we would get. After we finally got them out to look at it they replaced the hardware. Now we are up to lightning fast (sarcasm) 30mb for the trade off of the Internet not staying on for more than an hour at a time. Good luck trying to get in touch with the company you will be on hold for hours. When you try to book an appointment to get your Internet fixed prepare to have your entire day held hostage as they could show up between 8am-5pm and will charge you money if you miss them. If you have any other options take it. We are about to invest the ludicrous amount of money Star Link requires because that is the only other option. Don't even try this company.
This is the worst internet I have ever had. I've been using the internet through windstream for about 9 months. We moved to Polk County, North Carolina. And before we bought this house. I contacted this internet company to let them know that we use internet for work. And it was very important that we had good speeds. They promised me a certain speed. When I got here, they said they could only provide about a quarter of that speed. Then the technician showed up and said i would only get half of what they said so now from 1000mps to 100mps and we only get about 50mps as low as 10mbs and for the last week We've had no internet. The technician come out and said he could not fix it till tomorrow and told me when he fixed the cable tomorrow. He would only be able to get me half of what I was already getting which was not fast enough for my work. So now we have less internet than we originally were promised by 4 times. So here we are with the worst internet i believein the world. Except from satellit. If I could I would pay double the price for less internet!! Just to spite and make a point windstream does not care about their customers. I would give about anything in my house to get a better internet service. If you have another option, go with it, trust me, also, the customer service is the most rude people I have ever spoke to. I've set on the phone for a total of an hour to an hour and a 1/2 multiple times to accomplish. Nothing half of them don't speak english and the ones that do you have to repeat yourself multiple times just to lead to nothing.
Windstream is so bad I am using my AT&T phone connection to write the because it is the only way I have service. I have never experienced this level of poor quality since dial up was the only option. Our lines were installed when it WAS the only option and zero effort has been put forth since. They ran meandering lines around our property in the past and they can't even tell us where they are, so we have cut lines after specifically asking in advance so we didn't. Our service is in direct opposite proportion to how much we need it. The more we need it the less we have it. If we had the money on hand to replace it, we would have months or years ago. We are working toward it at the start of 2024. Thank heavens we have our phones or we would be completely cut off from everything and everyone. DO NOT make this product your choice!!!!
I've spent more time trying to get Kinetic to get me internet working than actually using it. I've used my phone's mobile Hotspot mire than Kinetic. Can't wait until Ripple finally completes my install.
Horrible internet and horrible service. Goes out constantly. In one week it went out twice for over 24 hrs bc (second time it was 48 hrs) the company couldn't fix it faster. You call head quarters and can't get a hold of a manager. They don't refund your money and just put in a "credit request" for following months for the exact time your internet was out for. Run very fast and very far away from this company.
I am so entirely fed up with this company. Every step of the way has been a nightmare. Lets start with their $200 offer for switching to windstream. It's a wholesale lie. The rebate system they use is no longer functioning and there's no support. Next comes the installation which no one could be reached to schedule my date, the installer shows up out of nowhere. No complaints of the installer. Did his job. Finally, nobody can help with the fantom $200 gift card that the company sent me the registration link for. Link worked but the site is broken. It crashes when you try to confirm your card is being sent. If this is how it's going to be, I'm going back to Google Fiber where it was insanely simple and fast as could be. What a mistake it was to even think windstream had this under control. There is NO visa giftcard.
