I have been a customer of midco for quite some time, overall things were okay, I did have 1 gig with them and paid $72.00 a month, that promotion ended and was charged $112.81 with no notice, no change of equipment as I was still on 1 gig but was paying $112 for 1.25 gig. So I had to get new equipment, they sent it to me, I had to set it up, no problem to me but that's not very professional, second my gf works and goes to school from home and constantly has disconnection issues, not as much as before but still happens, as of today, 5/14 I was overcharged by $235. When I had already paid my late bill. They are only refunding me $112.81 and having the other 112.81 pay for the services till June. Which is a little okay but not what I wanted. If they're able to overcharge customers they should be able to refund the same amount, not argue about statements and policies. Now I have to wait 10 days from now for the refund process to happen. That's ridiculous. I do not recommend midco to anyone, I will be cancelling service. Horrible company.

Constant bad experiences with Midco. Double charged one month. Overcharged one month. Changing packages/raising prices without being notified. Autopay randomly shut off. All of that for internet service that isn't very good and is overpriced. If there were better internet provider options, I would switch immediately. Excited to eventually move out of the region so I never have to have Midco again.

My experience with Midco: I recently signed up for Midco internet. The installation rep Mike showed up on time on February 25, 2025. He took 2 to 3 hours to install service. I work from home on my computer and have a work phone that is connected to the modem. The tech did not realize until late into the installation. He proceeded saying that I could not connect to Midco because there is only one port to connect to and the router needed to be connected to the modem and the phone could not also be connected. Tech Mike connected Midco internet but left my phone connected to my old internet provider. Mike also said it could take days to import my work number and to contact my work on how to proceed. This did not make sense to me. I called Midco support the next day and was told I would need a new router to connect my phone to. I went to Walmart and Best Buy to look at routers but there was none that I liked. So, I bought a new modem from Amazon. Yesterday, I went to connect to the router. My son was here helping me as he is more tech savvy than me. I called Midco Support to walk my son through the connection. This tech support said we didn't need a new router because my phone can connect to the modem. My son was able to connect to Midco internet. Also, Midco support tech was going to call back after everything was connected but never did. I now must return my Amazon router. I am not impressed with your services. I have invested many hours in this and have lost hours not being able to work and to my life. There was no professional installation that I am being charged for. The first picture is how the support tech originally did. Supposedly a professional installation??? the second picture is after my son installed Midco intertnet.

Depending on the day of the week and time you might not even have internet for instance today is December 21st 2024 and my internet randomly froze three times so far. Currently at freezes randomly for about a minute to 2 minutes and then magically comes back honestly this is the most garbage internet provider you can find around here. You're better off getting starlink none of the internet companies in South Dakota are good. If you're reading this I warned you that you're not going to be happy with random buffering times when you pay over $100 a month for internet. Also I'd like you to read the reply that they gave me it'll be some stupid customer service we're sorry about this inconvenience they're not sorry about the inconvenience because they're not willing to comp you anything on your bill for their internet interruptions. Trust me your money is better spent with starlink.

I called midco today and they answered my call, said a technician would be out today, and actually came within 15 minutes of my phone call! Josh came out and got everything figured out and gave me an action plan on what was being done. Very professional. Great service

5/24 representative came to my house for an install. Discovered Midco doesn't service my home (shouldn't he have known that before he came) so would have to schedule trenching to run fiber. 6/4 Got an email verifying they would trench within 30 business days. A week after that email my yard was marked for utilities. 7/8 still no trenching and by now all utility marks have disappeared. 7/11 showed up to trench. Worked all day. Still had a large open hole in the ground. Said they were running to get PVC. Never came back and left this open hole in the ground with no barriers. Sure hope no one falls into it. Someone will be in big trouble. It's 6:00 at night now, so doubt they are coming back. That's my experience with Midco. Update: After posting this review, Midco was very responsive and all was taken care of professionally. Even got a nice call from a manager. Why, oh why does it take going to these extremes though?? It's so much easier to do it right the first time. Saves the company time and money and doesn't lose you a customer.
