"Pack up your toys and go play some where else" - Joe McCall, CFO Airnet Joe McCall told me this the first time I ever talked with him. The short version of this story is I packed up my toys and went some where else. My company is now happier, with over twice as much storage and processing power, and we pay less than 1/3 of Airnet's price. On top of that, I don't have to be harassed by Joe anymore. The statement by Joe, meant as a threat, turned out to be the best advice I've received in a while. Airnet is a unique company as they not only offer server rack hosting and management, but they also offer individual shared hosting plans for small websites. While this sounds great at first, it becomes a problem when they begin going after the clients of their paying customers. My web development and marketing company frequently hosts the websites that we build for our customers. Airnet wanted to double dip and host these on their own shared servers. Even though we were a client of Airnet, they saw us as a threat and forced us out. We had to migrate our server with 65+ websites in less than a month to another server rack in Dallas, TX. Not only was this a bad experience, the CFO Joe McCall personally called and emailed to the point of harassment and went out of his way to make our lives hell. I imagine that Airnet can offer quality services, but be warned they can turn off your server at any moment, whether you have a contract or not. Luckily our new server host, Rackspace, offers over twice the server storage, memory and processors for 1/3 of the price that Airnet charges. There are plenty of quality server companies out there, ones that will not force your company out of a contract and cost you thousands of extra dollars in a last minute move. I suggest taking your toys else where.
