The Philosopher's House

This is such a cute tea house! We had an excellent time just drinking tea and hanging out in one the private rooms. There is several very comfortable chairs and couches. The tea was amazing and the staff very knowledgeable and helpful in making a decision. We did not get to explore the whole house. Very clean inside and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Very cute little spot here in downtown Johnson City and so different from anywhere else, too! It's perfect for your average tea lover and there is a great variety of teas to choose from. They also have local vendors selling their jewelry and plants, etc., so it's nice and refreshing to see a local business support other local vendors!! Inside is very spacious with lots of seating to choose from, and there is a big calendar with fun events happening throughout the month for the community to come together and hang out. There is something for everyone here, and I know I will definitely be back!

I went with a group of 6 ladies. The person who coordinated going there called to reserve a room and we were given a cute spot upstairs (this is an old house converted to a coffee shop, so there are many nooks that can be used to meet in if you don't want to stay in the main room downstairs). I had hot cocoa, a couple others had a French Press (two shared as it was enough for them to each have a cup of coffee). One ordered a galette ad two had scones. There is also an outdoor seating area that can be used as well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Incredible third space Had a great time with family! We booked a full tea tasting and they took us on a bit of a tea history, culture, and process trip around the world, touching on different brewing styles and serving a variety of teas.

I cannot express how much I love this place. The team that works here is so friendly and incredibly easy to talk to. They all speak to you like long term friends or family, there's no awkwardness when asking them questions. The house itself is incredibly clean, each room has such an enveloping atmosphere unique to the room's theme. I personally really enjoy the Green Room for the (as I perceive it) druid, forest wanderer vibes it gives off. The music they play is soft and calming. The tea and the food they offer are the real stars. I can easily spend hours in here without even knowing any time has passed. This is a wonderful, rather whimsical place that is amazing for studying, making friends, or just reading. I highly recommend it for everyone.

From start to finish, 10/10. Warm welcome, knowledgeable about tea with demonstration in brewing, tasty pastries, comfortable space with books, games, many things to picque your interest especially if you're a creative that wants a quiet space. Loved it and will definitely be going back. Great private areas for groups. Ren was so warm and welcoming, definitely a plus !

Have been here a couple of times now for meetings. Quiet, cozy, warm atmosphere. Staff are very helpful with tea selection ideas and details. Large amount of types of teas. Coffee is also served. And a local bakery provides snacks. The House itself has a small snack menu, too. Many rooms to choose from for your meeting or just some peaceful quiet tea time. Some rooms have tables and others only have side or end tables. There is a 2nd floor with rooms and a Japanese-style sitting room: no shoes allowed, seating includes cushions on the floor with the option of adding a wooden backing if available. Would recommend coming here for meetings, study groups, craft time... Or even just a few hours out of the house to enjoy the atmosphere.
