Shane Perkins is fantastic to work with. Many people like myself assume that a website is all you need for your business. I had a website for over 20 years. Overall, from a former beginner freelance writer's perspective, I appreciate Shane, Kat, and many of the other members of TakeOverSEO for giving me the chance to showcase my writing (from a ghostwriting perspective, anyway) and for sharing with me some of the basics of SEO tactics. However, because I never got to see their faces in real life and the most that they were able to do with me was give me an extra $2 raise and recommend that I look at other positions on LinkedIn, I don't feel that this company does an excellent job in helping writers like me figure out where my place is once I'm past the beginning phase. While I do respect the fact that TakeOverSEO isn't a job finding agency or a school for writers (well, it kindof is, but you get the idea....), at the same time, I feel that there is a LOT that this company can do down the road for freelancers and companies alike. So to those of you who feel offended by what I just wrote, please don't take what I wrote the wrong way. I just want others to know and understand that there's no shame in hiring a freelance writer and that good people like Shane and Kat can still have values that don't always align with everyone's interests. As a writer, I'm not just here to write 500 word articles for $15-$20 each on a weekly basis. I'm here to break barriers and help the world understand that no matter what your differences are, everyone can still get along in some way or another. While I do respect the fact that not all of my writings can be nominated for Nobel prizes, they still play a part in my formation as a freelance writer. So to those of you thinking about looking at a company like TakeOverSEO for your next marketing needs, just remember that the ones who are writing, formatting and editing your articles are the ones who strive to become the ultimate artists and thus will continue to do so the more that they take the time to get to know your line of work. As one of my former college creative writing professors once said, "Writing is risk, reflection, and revising." It's definitely not for the faint of heart.
