UTOPIA Fiber

I just connected with Utopia Fiber and am excited for the future. The technicians were great and were in and out in no time at all. We previously had Utopia service when it was first created but went away from it after a short time as many of the bugs had not been resolved. Great reviews from others and an excellent recommendation from a family member sold us on it. So far, we are ripping along at over 900 Mbps upload and download speeds.

I had the best experience with Utopia! We learned fiber is the way to go if possible, and were willing to wait the 9 or 10 days to have it installed. Luckily it had been at this property prior and I got a call from Todd the next day and he came out, called Trevan and got us connected! So grateful for these guys going above and beyond (IMO) by initiating faster service where they were able. My last cable company, I couldn't ever even talk to a human. Highly recommend!!

We've had Utopia before and really liked their service. Unfortunately, the install was really stressful and disappointing this time around. The contract company they hired to come dig to install the conduit really messed up the landscaping in my front yard. We have only rocks (a couple different types) and plants in our front yard. It's understandable that it got a bit messy in the process, but they didn't even bother trying to put it back correctly. The rocks were all mixed together, my drip irrigation line got unburied and didn't get covered back up (plus some of the branches off the main line got disconnected), and the plants they had to dig up weren't replanted correctly. There was space underneath the plants and there were tons of rocks under them when I pulled them out to bury them properly again. They eventually did come to put the rocks back in order. It's not perfect, but it looks better. When the installers came to run the fiber and turn the internet on, they discovered that the contractors who installed the conduit had kinked it, so they couldn't properly run the fiber cable and ended up having to run a temporary line. Mistakes happen, but it was a little annoying because it meant someone would have to come back later to fix the kink and run a permanent line. The installers were pretty good about communicating any issues they ran into until the very end, when one of them decided my box didn't have enough room for their modem plus all the things I already had in it. He installed his modem and then drilled into my box to hang my switch in front of it. In addition to it damaging my box, it looked like crap and scratched up my switch. Plus he broke some of the clips that are used to mount things in my box. I was very bothered that he never mentioned anything before he just drilled into my property. He didn't mention that he thought it might not fit or ask what he should do or if I wanted him to mount it all like that. What bothers me the most though is that I spent a short amount of time doing some rearranging and everything fit in the box without needing to screw into anything. To summarize, Utopia has good internet service, but really keep an eye on the contractors and installers while they're working on your property. (Note: Photos show damages, etc. The last photo is after I rearranged the box.)

The internet side of things are great. The install process, not so much. Just be prepared to fix things yourself if you want it done right. They had to cut through my patio concrete, which was expected. However, t took almost a month to get someone out to patch it and I had to get them to come back out twice to fix the concrete patch which looked like absolute garbage. After the second time, I gave up and finished myself. Then come Spring time, the cut through my main sprinkler line in two different spots. Called to get that repair done but never heard anything after the promised 24 hr response time, so I repaired them myself again. The crew randomly showed up two days later when I was away on military duty. I feel like they should be paying me to fix their install work.

The people on the phone when I lined up the install were not informative as to how Utopia would be installed. I googled and it said there were two ways so I had to call to clarify what they would do. The two guys that came to install at the house were AAAAmazing. They did a great job and were incredibly nice. They were very helpful. I wish I had their names to include them in the review but please let them know how much I appreciated them.

The customer service is great the speeds are great. I have no complaints about that. The only reason why I don't leave 5 stars is that I'm paying twice as much as other companies. With other companies you are only paying for one company to provide the fiber connection and service. With utopia you have one providing fiber and another providing service and it ends up about twice as much.

Installers were quick and left no trace. I had conduit pre-installed in garage. 1 Gig up and running in 15 minutes!

I've had a great experience so far with Utopia. The service is reliably fast so you're getting more than what you're paying for. But what truly makes Utopia stand out is their customer service! I ran into an issue that Utopia was able to help me with so quickly with! I am still surprised how fast everything was resolved. You can call them and talk to a real person who actually cares about what's going on. That's what Utopia can provide for you, a level of service that goes truly above and beyond excellence.
