Shentel

I must be one of the lucky ones because my internet service is fast, reliable and only goes out occasionally. Generally, I get good help on the phone when needed. I had to take away one star only because my last appointment was scheduled for a Saturday between 8:00AM-12:00PM and nobody showed up. I called at 2:00PM asking where the tech is and they said they'd contact dispatch and let me know. Nobody called. I called back at 6pm and the place was closed. I waited around all day for someone to come and do what was a 15-minute modem swap. The following Monday I was told, yeah, they had a tech call out. Ok fine, that happens. So, CALL ME. Let me know I don't need to hang around my house when I have things to do. Especially when I called first and requested an update. Aside from that no complaints. But they lose a star in customer service.

Called today because my internet line was cut by my Electrician, not their fault. Miss Utility didn't mark all the correct places. I was told it would not be until 04/22/25 before they could get out there; guy did inform us he would do his best to expedite it! 3 hours later, we are back up and running. Thanks Shental!

Just about as bad as it gets. The amount you pay for what you receive is not up to par. $85 for 250 mpbs is robbery. The salesman made false promises of wall to wall wifi to ensure I would go through him. On top of my monthly bill as a college student i'm charged $50 for moving. Not counties or anything, in the same apartment complex. I set everything up myself because it is rather simple what they do. Now I have to pay a $50 transfer fee for moving 500 feet. I would quit using them but the best part is I can't. I have tried to use every other company because they are cheaper but I am locked to Shentel, unfortunately.

Lots of outages for days on end. When you contact the company to report an outage, you get a message that in effect says"we know there's a problem and we're not sure how long it's going to take to fix it." That's all. I'm switching to Starlink. Avoid this company if possible.

Most of the staff I have worked with has been helpful, they were great with working with me to change out outdated equipment. However I had to knock off a star because there's outages and downtime more often than I'd like.

Office only open Wednesday & Thursday 9:30-4:30. So how are people that work or pay cash supposed to pay their bills. If work 9-5 tell me to pay it. Don't say on lunch since they are also closed for lunch. So glad when the 1 800 number they understood & helped us not get disconnected since office isn't open normal human hours.

Unreliable for competitive gaming. Good speeds for downloading though.

Let me start by stating, I only gave one star because it is required to select the amount of stars to write a review. Shentel is the worse company that I have ever had to deal with. My husband is the account holder and I am listed as an authorized user. I called to drop the home phone service as we no longer need it. I was advised that I am unable to drop any service as an authorized user. I explained to the " customer service representative " that it clearly states online that an authorized user is allowed to make changes to the account. She stated "you can upgrade or downgrade services, but you can't cancel anything". What is the point of an authorized user if they aren't authorized?!?
