Deceptive Pricing and Poor Customer Service - Avoid! I had a terrible experience with Astound Broadband. I tried to cancel my service a month ago due to rising costs, but a chat agent convinced me to stay, assuring me my price was locked until 2028 and no promotions were ending soon. I confirmed this twice before deciding to stay. However, my next bill doubled from $46.93 to $71.93! When I reached out, the phone agent was aggressive, made assumptions, and yelled at me. The in-store rep was equally unhelpful and refused to acknowledge the issue. A chat agent later claimed my "promotion" had expired, contradicting earlier promises. This bait-and-switch tactic, combined with awful customer service, makes me regret staying. I'm planning to cancel and switch. Avoid Astound if you value transparency and decent support!

This company is the pits. I initially signed up a couple of years ago because of a promotional rate that came with free leased routers. After seeing my bill being charged for equipment, I called customer service who suggested that I buy my own equipment. I did that and returned the equipment and my bill increased! The lame excuse they gave me was that returning the "free equipment" broke the contract on the better offer I signed up for. I only signed up with these crooks because they had a monopoly in my building, not anymore. Watch out with the disconnection, they nickel and dime you for everything. My experience disconnecting is the same as everyone else, with the attempt to get you to pay for service that you already cancelled. Basically charging you for service you can't even use because the equipment was already returned anyway.

These guys are awesome. I Just got 1 gig up and 1 gig down for $50 a month, no contract. Also got rid of my modem because it's direct from the wall to your router

Terrible service and glad to be done with them. After years of them being the only internet in our area, finally switched to Starlink. Astound has outages all the time and when they give you a credit, it's like $3/day. Does not math when we are paying $130/month for service. Finally we are cancelling and due to "new terms and conditions" they cannot disconnect until the end of the billing cycle. We are FIVE days in to a cycle. They are crooks and I will NEVER recommend them. Good riddance.

My internet conked out suddenly. I'm relatively tech savvy & knew all the normal troubleshooting tricks to try & resolve before contacting Tech Support. Eh, didn't work. Chat Help very nice but asked me to try everything I already did, to no avail. A technician had to be called. Luke was great, problem resolved. He also happily engaged my 4-yr-old, who peppered him with questions & Lego creations throughout the appt. Appreciate the good service. Dinging a star because he was late arriving, but otherwise I was very pleased with the experience. Thanks, Luke!

Jordan was absolutely fantastic. Our internet took a lot of problem solving to set up and he did his work well, fast and with clear expertise. He took care of absolutely everything and made sure we got our internet the day we ordered it. Highly recommend Astound technicians and Jordan in particular. Thank you!

When I started my plan I asked about when I went to cancel it if I would have to pay out the rest of my monthly term or if they could prorate it. I was told that I could cancel at any time and they would prorate so I never have to pay for service I can't use. So when I went to cancel I was told they "changed policies" and now I do have to pay for service I can never use. Poor consumer policy. Otherwise the Internet was fine but weirdly my bill would fluctuate up or down 5 dollars, possibly correlated to length of a month? It balanced out to the amount they quoted me but just keep that in mind for your monthly budgeting. Also my last bill went up 10$ not sure why.

The price you actually pay is 50% higher than the listed price after junk fees. It's customary to not include sales tax in this country, but beyond that, "fees" are just a way of lying about your prices. Tons of telecom companies pull this stunt, but the final bill being *fifty percent higher* is the most egregious* I've ever seen. (Also, note that the 2-year price lock doesn't apply to the junk fees - they reserve the right raise those as much as they like.) Hopefully Washington bans this type of fraudulent advertising soon, like Minnesota did recently. Advertising a price that isn't the actual price is a classic bait and switch scam.
