We've been customers of Portteus Winery in Zillah WA for many years now. Our 1st case of wine was an 2009 old vine Cab. Sauv. Their wines have become a part of our lives. Paul the owner treats his customers like old friends and visiting this rustic warehouse tasting room with views of the vines is always joyful and memorable!!! Portteus wines are high quality and even when on a tighter budget with price increases in every direction from outrageous tarrifs, this winery has affordable deals on incredible WA wines!!! (We've been known to go weekend hiking and camping in the sunshine Yakima region and combining it with wine tasting at Portteus Winery) WINE A BIT WITH PORTTEUS, YOU'LL FEEL BETTER!!! Friendly folks that grow an incredible variety on their estate (66 acres), ranging from Zinfandel to Barbera, Sangiovese, Cabernet, Petite Syrah, you name it. Tasting is only $5 and service is super friendly. They usually runs some 2-for-1 specials also. Only suggestion would be slightly bigger tasting glasses.
Great variety of wines. Their Old Vine Cab is our favorite. Rolando is very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend a visit! We even joined their wine club!
Still my favorite winery in Yakima Valley. Bold earthy reds including some less common varietals, a stable of consistent blends and exceptionally friendly staff. If I go to one winery, this is it hands down.
Nice variety of wines. Petit Verdot was interesting. We also enjoyed and bought Malbec. Stayed there with our RV thru Harvest Host app.
Always a highlight of our trip to Zillah. Thank you Paul for treating us like family. The wine is some of the best in the PNW!
